Bionic Commando PC gets release date News

PC News by Robert Purchese

7 July, 2009

Capcom has clarified to Eurogamer that Bionic Commando will be released on PC next Friday, 17th July.

Desktop dabblers can expect DirectX 9 and 10 support, online options, higher resolutions and remappable controls.

But, otherwise, the two-month old gameplay of the PS3 and 360 versions will remain.

About time too and I'm ecstatic that it has no Games for Windows LIVE support! Thank you! :)

I still understand what games for windows is actually for. As far as I can tell it installs a program that a web browser could do just as easily.

Games for Windows Live gives you gamerscore points for playing PC games. That's about it, as far as I'm aware.

Games for Windows Live just isn't as user-friendly as Steam Community. It broke a lot of PC games, you can't believe the matchmaking horrors people have seen in DoW II ever since the game came out, the 1.4.1 patch beta only made things worse.

I really hope it will be improved but Microsoft is way too silent about it. For now I just prefer games without GfWLive.

GFWL is certainly better than nothing. And though I've had limited use with steam, I find GFWL considerably faster, more seamless and intuitive. I'm plus/minus on achievements, but they can be fun.

I really don't see the point in Games for Windows LIVE on the PC at all. If every PC game included it as a standard for Achievements and Friends lists then fine but as it is only about one in every twenty games (at most) includes it so it's all a bit of a mess really.

GAME and Gameplay now have this game listed for 28th August 2009 release but yet Play.com and Amazon are still saying 17th July as per this news article. Play.com even have the game listed as being "in stock". So if it *IS* out this week then why do GAME/Gameplay have incorrect release dates? Surely the game has not been put but ANOTHER month?!? :?
