Bionic Commando for PSN, XBLA News

NES classic Bionic Commando is being tidied up for a PSN and Live Arcade release.

That's if you believe Japanese magazine Famitsu (partially translated by IGN), which says there will be a two-player mode and some crazy elements linking it to the current-gen overhaul.

Little else is known, other than it will be out in Japan this spring. Capcom Europe won't say a dickie bird.

Bionic Commando is based around a strange fellow who has a mechanical arm that can do things like fire a grappling hook out so he can swing around like Spider-Man.

GRIN is making the full scale PS3, 360 and PC offering, and the game should be out sometime this year.

This article is incorrect. It is a 'remake' of the original game in 3D with the classic 2D gameplay. Exactly like how Prince of Persia Classic was done.

The arcade game came first. The NES game is a weird bastardisation of the arcade original, with added Hitler.

If they were going to do one, they really should've done the arcade original. The NES version's cack.

@frod: The remakes sell better than the new games according to statistics.

Bionic Commando will be great on xbla. With updated graphics in HD this will be a must buy for me.

Bionic Commando has been out on most formats at somepoint. Of the original arcade conversions I seem to remember the C64 version was damn ugly but very playable and with groovy music. The other version I remember was a hybrid on the original Gameboy which was quite good (i think this was something similar to the NES incarnation.

Would defaintly take a look at the demo :)

The 2D remake of this being released on PSN looks great. I can't wait. I never played the original but this in co-op looks like it should be some old fashioned arcade fun.
