I'm hoping it will be "a bit dry" so I can play all the games I bought in 2008 and haven't got around to even opening yet.

Good to see Lord British pushing his limits. I wouldn't want him to get stuck in a rut...

Well I`m looking forward to plenty of games.

Killzone2, InFamous, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, God of War III, Prototype, Ghostbusters, Arkam Asylum, CoD6, Operation Flashpoint 2 and Resident Evil 5 are all on my radar.

Maybe not all AAA, but they are big games none the less and that`s not even including the 360 exclusives. 2009 will be another good year for gamers.

On the assumption that Bethesda aren't releasing anything this year, then yeah, it's looking empty apart from the usual average-fest ...

My prediction for 2009? Space marines games getting far more attention than they would get in any other genre of entertainment. Then again, with James Cameron priming himself to relaunch us back into space marine frenzy I guess this prediction probably stands for the next five years at least!

"You are enjoying Dead Space but want res5 to fuck off? That makes no sense to me "

Having played the demo of RE5 it makes perfect sense to me.....

RE and Dead Space can fuck right off as far as I'm concerned. I'd never buy a game that deliberately fucks you over with shit controls.

2009 will be just as good as 2008 if not better. A year ago some people were thinking nothing would top Portal, Bioshock, etc.

Even Europeans stuck with only a PS2 have Persona 4 to look forward to.

Fair enough just Dead space probably wouldn't exist if it wasnt for resident evil. so telling them to fuck off makes you look like a knob.

Whilst I'm inclined to agree with Molyneux, I remember feeling the same way this time last year, especially after the success of '07. However, 2008 (arguably) ended up even better than the year before, so I'm still optimistic that 2009 will deliver after all.

The biggest argument against this I suppose is that the games that come out this year will, pretty much, have had devs working at near full pace on them throughout their dev lifetime now that the learning curves are over which should see better quality games due to quicker dev times and more time for polishing ...

Well, I don't know what's dry until I play it but (assuming they're delivered on time) the following don't look dry to me:
Alpha Protocol, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, Dragon Age, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock 2, Halo 3 OSDT, Uncharted 2, Wii Sports Resort, Resident Evil 5, the two Alien games planned, Ghostbusters, StrongBad season 2, Guitar Hero Beatles (or was it Rock Band - can't remember), a proper Infinity Ward Call of Duty 5, GTA Chinatown Wars, Final Fantasy 13, I am Alive, Assassins' Creed 2, Professor Layton 2, MadWorld, Brutal Legend, Broken Sword Wii, This is Vegas, inFamous, Prototype, Little Big Planet PSP, LocoRoco PS3, Mafia 2, Rage, a new Doom, the first batch of truly excellent iPhone games, Godfather 2, Punch Out, God of War 3, Chronicles of Riddick, Splinter Cell Conviction (maybe), inevitable Nintendo surprise (Icarus, F Zero, Pilotwings, Star Fox?), Bayonetta, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Red Steel 2 (if it uses Wii Motion Plus), Mario and Luigi 3, Rhythm Heaven, Killzone 2, Streetfighter IV, Bionic Commando... and that's just what ones I can remember off the top of my head. Sure, inevitably many will disappoint, as they always do, but many already look like potential future classics. Let's not forget that the year is less than one week old - many of the biggest and best surprises are still very much under wraps. I for one am not worried about any games 'drought' in 2009.

Yes but who knows what really excites Peter, im betting we don't really want to know.

Also its not wrong to like innovative or odd games as well as games with space marines and get excited about either.
