BFBC2 MP demo next week on PS3
PC multiplayer beta kicks off today.
DICE has announced that the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer demo will be available next Thursday, 4th February on PS3.
The Xbox 360 version was put on Xbox Live Marketplace earlier today, as you know.
Today also marks the start of the PC multiplayer beta for the game. This can be participated in by pre-ordering the game at specific retailers or by snatching a key from an online outlet.
One of those will be Fileplay, a site that also provides server rental for private BFBC2 matches. DICE raised a few eyebrows by holding back the public server files that usually enable any Tom, Dick or Harry to run their own dedicated servers. The developer assured us, however, that no profits were made this way, and the decision was made purely to protect the "integrity" of the game's code.
Fileplay's 10,000 key giveaway starts at 5pm GMT.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is due out in full on 5th March.

More reasons to have both consoles.

Will be playing ME and MAG. Big deal over nothing son!

This would have been good to give me something to do for today but once MAG arrives I'll have all the shooter I need until Bad Company 2 is actually released.

Actually, they probably won't be dissapointed, since the PS3 beta was available from mid Nov till end of Dec.

Unless, you haven't played the beta and you do not want MAG (like myself) and of course you are not playing ME2.

Like Machiavellian said, not everyone likes MAG and didn't get into the BF beta, so that was a pretty stupid thing to say.
I wasn't making a big deal of it either, it doesn't affect me as I own both consoles, but I can certainly tell you there WILL be alot of disappointed PS3 owners.

Which are probably outnumbered by the sheer number of Xbox only owners who will have had to wait 2 months(!!!) over the PS3 players that have already played it.
Or maybe as adults we have a little bit of patience and don't cry waaaaaaahmbulance because we can't do something instantly.

So they've played two different levels extensively before the game is out.
But still: PS3 suX!!11! X80x RUl3Z! G4Y5tat10n N00BZ! Am3r1C4 W1NZ ALL!!1

People disappointed that they didn't get a demo doesn't usually make people cry. I never said they were going to be hugely disappointed, just a little disappointed that they have to wait an extra week.
What is the big deal with me expressing my opinion on how others would feel?

Break time kids.

Because they won't be dissapointed. Because the beta was only supposed to be out the 4th.

Never ceases to amaze me how sites don't prepare for the inevitable traffic rush.

I replied to MaxHughes they would be a little disappointed that they have to wait an extra week, but won't be disappointed with the demo. Why don't you also flame the people that get disappointed with game delays?
Why do you keep bringing up the beta? Not everyone was in it.
I find it rather funny that you slate me, when I own both consoles so it doesn't disappoint me, I'm just looking at it from both sides of the fence. Yes it's only a week, so it's nothing major, I agree!
Jesus, ignoranceof the highest order.

Now i have to to a class and hope there are still some keys left at 8:30 tonight.
I really want to play this since getting back into BF2 when it was about £3.50 for the game and all the add-ons on Steam over christmas. I don't want MW2's bloody half-arsed MP. From the videos BF:BC2 looks fucking awesome.

This. Even Eurogamer can't cope.

Of course EA will claim the problems are nothing to do with their servers as they have for the last 8 years or so. Demo deleted after one hour, no sale.

What a shame, seems like a step back form Battlefield 2.
