Use all the upgrades.

Struggling to make headway in Battlefield 2142? You might want to dig it out this weekend in particular, then, because Electronic Arts is planning to unlock all of the weapon upgrades for everyone.

"In an effort to let everyone preview all unlocks while playing in a ranked environment we will be granting all soldiers every one of the upgrades over the coming 4 days," the official site explains.

"Starting Friday and lasting until midnight PST Monday every soldier who logs in will be able to fight it out with every unlock in Battlefield 2142! Jump on and play alongside us during this free for all weekend."

Presumably half the plan is to tempt some of you fence-sitters into embracing the future (war), so if you're considering a purchase ahead of this weekend's excitement, you might want to have a flick through our review and see what we reckon.

I never quite liked BF2142. I still prefer to get myself killed on BF2 from time to time.

Nice try EA but "no dice" (pun intended)

After the buggy disgrace of BF 2 I lost interest.

BF1942 on the other hand is a still mucho fun (especially capture the flag)

They should just let everyone have the unlocks all the time, I simply do not have the time to invest in playing this game now to the desired level so that I can access these additional `carrots` waved in front of my face.

The days of being able to play games all day are simply not there anymore as this thing called `life` keeps getting in the way.

sweet...but i got most of the vital weapns anyway so...does that mean beginners will have the advantage? nah dont like the idea...although i really want to try out that drone gun finally...hehe
