BF Bad Company getting Trophies News

PlayStation 3 Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

10 September, 2008

EA and DICE have announced that Battlefield: Bad Company will be patched with Trophy support on PlayStation 3 during a future round of fixes.

Meanwhile, PS3 and 360 owners will soon be able to access the three weapons given out exclusively to pre-orders, newsletter sign-ups and demo users for free.

Announced yesterday, albeit quietly, forthcoming Bad Company updates will also address server lag, dog tag lag and PS3 VOIP issues, among other tweaks.

The developers are also currently hard at work at transforming the winner of the Battlefield: Bad Company Cast Your Vote thing into a Conquer map fit for a new map pack. Par for the Course and Acta Non Verba were the winning maps after more than 36,000 votes were cast.

For more on Bad Company, which includes a healthy single-player game along with its usual serving of large-scale multiplayer, check out our Battlefield: Bad Company review.

Just for the trophies? Don't let other company's read this.:P

I was thinking about this the other day. Didn't really get the feeling devs were lining up to add content to old games.

Now for MGS, Ratchet and GTA please.

That is all very nice, but when the hell are they going to fix the clan system that has been broken since launch?!?

Considering how much experience Dice have of developing this type of game, Bad Company has had some shocking design decisions. And the server lag has been that bad that I'd say 50% of the time I try to play I can't.

Pity really as otherwise it's the probably the best Battlefield game since 1942.

If you're thinking of getting it i'd wait and see how the patch goes. Their track record is atrocious (I gave up on BF2 after their cack handed no-bug fixing patches finally broke the game).

I thought trophies were coming to MGS. Thoroughly enjoyed it, not sure if I'd go through again just for trophies though.

OMG!!!!!!!! why bring trophys in to it now. it was agony playing through it the first time, this is not a game that u can keep playing, its not like cod4 it gets boring. so does this mean the trophys will add to what i have already done or will i have to do it all again to earn them. better not have to or i will be mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very mad.

Cool. I actually stopped my second playthrough just for that.
There where so many cool bits I can take another round.

I've actually already played through the bike chase scene a couple of times just for the hell of it, but I was waiting for trophies for a full second play-through.

As for Bad Company, bought this the other day in Morrisons half price sale. It's pretty good, but I wasn't convinced to pay full price. Not tried online yet, and by the sounds of it it's worth waiting for this patch...

^Don't get me wrong, when the servers aren't playing up it can be a great game. But this and the lack of options for the squads and region specific servers can ruin it.

Why do people still winge about BF2 online? I had as many problems as anyone else, but I sorted them. Personally my favourite online game ever.

This game is awesome online, yea i have had 1 or 2 days when there has been some lag but other than that i love it online. Glad i got it on 360 insted of my PS3 though, lets face it there are not many games on PS3 with no VOIP issues.

living in the unfortunately internet shy australian outback, never has a multiplayer game gone smoothly for me, until BF Bad company. for some unknown reason this game just refuses to lag, even with four xbox's running off the same connection.

i had to ditch call of duty, RB6 vegas, GRAW to name but a few, as they were simply unplayable, but now i can at least play something online.

acta non verba and par for the course. good choices, all in all, though if it really was down to a vote, which implies that any of the maps could have been made multiplayer, wouldnt you have a team working on all of them anyway? its a couple of extra maps, that you have already spent hours building, simply converted to multiplayer. prolongs the life of the game, which is a problem at the moment.
