Head starts for Champions pre-orders

Beta access for spandex MMO too.

The UK pre-order incentives for superhero MMO Champions Online - released here for PC on September 4th - have been announced.

Anyone willing to place an order for the game now will get to play it quite a bit between now and then, since you get guaranteed beta access followed by a week's head start on the live servers.

You'll also receive a few exclusive in-game items - a couple of cosmetic modificaitons and a damage resistance boost.

Play.com and Amazon.co.uk have already opened their pre-order books, Gamestation and HMV do so on Friday and Game follows suit on Monday.

Plenty more, including hands-on beta impressions, at the Champions Online gamepage.

Still not too sure on the whole micro-transactions thing with this...Me thinks I will wait for a review...

So if you pre-order now, you start playing in the beta when?...

So why don't Play.com have any beta codes now ??
I phoned them and all they could say was that codes would be sent out a week before release... but what use is that when beta has finished and it moves into head start.

I think 18th of next month was mentioned.

But if the game launches 04-Sept then a beta that starts 18-Aug is going to be OPEN beta... nothing EXCLUSIVE about an Open beta, and Play.com are quoting exclusivity.

Yeah that's what I don't get. Eurogamer seem to be saying we can start playing now, but no where appears to be offering access to the game with pre-orders until later next month.

    colour me interested...
but sadly Aion will be out soon, and then its only a month or two before 'The Old Republic' should be out (I think).
even with cancelling WoW again, I really wouldnt have the time/money for 3 mmo subs hehe.
maybe trial or beta access to this would make it a harder choice heh.
