I got that iconic tune running through my head now. This was from MJ golden era before the weirdness and messiah complexes set it.
I think it would be fun to play on GH.
Also Fall Out who?
Comment below viewing threshold Show
Why? The song is no different, in guitar terms, than most other songs on the GH games. Repetitve riffs and then something more individual towards the end.
Personally, I think a little Jacko in the game will be a good thing. Fuck, I'd even welcome some Jazz in downloadable form, as the whole thing is getting just a little too samey and dull with the current focus on "Rock".

Glad someone got what I was getting at!

TBH, I couldn't expect much better, i've got my Boston pack on RB, and not much could beat Boston...Except Carry on my wayward son, which RB2 has eitherway >_>

I WAS WRONG!
Just goes to show that I don't listen to that song for the guitar work.
Or was I thinking of Billy Jean?
Comment below viewing threshold Show
EXACTLY!! That's what was getting at. Its not about the guitar anymore.

The solo will be fun, though.

At least the headline is simple enough.

"and I'm guessing most people don't listen to it for Eddie's amazing guitar solo."
You must be fucking joking, it's one of the best parts of the track. Since when can you determine any song is one genre and one genre only?
Comment below viewing threshold Show
You're telling me that a majority of people who purchased Thriller parted with their cash because Eddie played guitar on Beat It? There was me thinking it was because some dude called Michael Jackson was singing the songs.
Also, its very easy to put music into single genres, that's why they have genres - makes it easier to find the country and western section in your local HMV. Yes, some songs are more difficult to place - those mash-ups with Jay-Z and Linkin Park where the hell do you look for them in Woolies?

I did listen to Beat It today and yes, it is a great guitar solo - the guitar work is "instrumental" to the track. I got it completely wrong earlier I admitted it then as I admit it now

Big of you to own up to your error. 90% of posters would have either fought a losing battle, or never posted in the thread again. Classily done.

I even learnt to play it (albeit extremely s-l-o-w-l-y) on a real guitar!
