Bayonetta Xbox Live demo out now

Slow newts day.

SEGA has popped a Bayonetta demo on Xbox Live.

It's nearly 800MB and can be queued for download on the Xbox website.

We did tell you about this last week but it's worth saying it again, particularly as I told you Tuesday 3rd December rather than Thursday. Clown. [Prick. - Ed]

Head over to our Bayonetta Japanese import review if you haven't already.

  • Malek86 #9 2 years ago

Hey, is it normal that Silver users can download it too? I know I am.
  • lennon #10 2 years ago

Well I never I was just wondering when the demo would be available.

Now answer my next question by the time I get back to the home page. Where is the bloody Saboteur review!
  • dr_faulk #11 2 years ago

I did not know that I could queue downloads from the Xbox website...

    Thank you Eurogamer!
  • busboy33 #12 2 years ago

    @EarlBasset:

Go to Xbox.com (or the UK version) and log in with your xbox info. From the website, you can check your friends, send and receive text messages . . . and access the marketplace. You can choose to download a demo (or DLC, movies, etc.) and the will queue up waiting for your xbox to turn on. As soon as you turn your xbox on, the downloads will start automatically.
  • lennon #13 2 years ago

Xbox live items can be queued to download by logging into the xbox live website. Its a useful tool although you cant switch your xbox on remotely so it kind of reduces the usefulness a bit.
  • Syrette #14 2 years ago

    Awesome!

    /queues for download
  • captain_Carl #15 2 years ago

    Nice edit haha

I'll download it as soon as the PSN store is updated. It looks crap to me but everyone is raving about it
  • riz23 #16 2 years ago

A sexy DMC. Chucked some winged thing into a guillotine and lopped his head off, flung another into an iron maiden and finally turned all my hair/clothes into a huge flippin' dragon and beat the shit out some giant baby faced prat. Awesome!

Now if they put that description on the back of the box I'm sure it would outsell all DMCs put together!
  • Razorus #18 2 years ago

Did anyone else wonder why the hell the demo took so long to start up? I thought my 360 crashed.
  • chessboxer #19 2 years ago

It's on the PSN Store now, only 1664MB.
  • waynenot #20 2 years ago

    @Malek86

    Ok for silver accounts, too.

This is totally Bonkers !!!!!....Man !!!! I thought DMC 4 was fast but this is insane, roll on release day
  • Grim63 #22 2 years ago

    @Razorus - Re-booted my 360 twice as I thought the demo was crashing it.......................Doh !!!!
  • Jamiesan #23 2 years ago

On the dashboard description, and in the demo itself, it promises "Climatic" action. Surely they mean Climactic? Unless this is a meteorological simulator in disguise :p

This is a very, very silly game.

Left me grinning like an idiot.
  • TRUTH #26 2 years ago

I lost interest in these hack and slash games - but Bayonetta (once you adjust the camera on X- axis to and camera speed) put a great smile on my face. Did find it a bit confusing at first, once adjusted and understand the flow it's brilliant. Graphics are AAA standard, will be looking out for this along with Darksiders and Danteo's Inferno (both looking quality).

Picked up Mx Vs. Atx; Relfex (cheap form HK import)...great game, graphics and so much improved from previous game. On PS3 & 360 - worth getting if into off-road games: Motor Storm, Pure, Sega Rally, Trial HD.
  • AOFanboi #27 2 years ago

Why is the PS3 demo twice the download size of the 360 one?

Great-looking and -playing, though, will probably get. DMC without the sucky camera is win.
  • DarkMoon #28 2 years ago

Just played the demo. Brilliant. Went from maybe to 1st day purchase. 2010 is shaping up to be a good year. Bayonetta, Dante's Inferno and then the daddy of them all GOWIII. Not going to be missing 2009 much now hehe
  • Badassbab #29 2 years ago

Downloaded and played the Xbox version. Top quality. Now downloading the PS3 version (only got the Slim yesterday) to compare if it's as inferior as some say.
  • Geordiemp #30 2 years ago

I have tried it once, I need to try it again. I want to like it and love NG series and liked first half DMC4.

Cant put my finger on it ? Seems like there is no weight, when you hit thngs you seem to hit them until they die, and seem to float around....?

Dont know, maybe I need a thunk animation / feel for when I connect, an inimation when I land from a jump etc and a feel that I landed.... that seems missing (like a SEGA game).

Some shooting games 'miss' this also which makes the 'feel' light, like pea hooting without reaction...

I need to try again later

Is there a secret A-Line Western wedding dress outfit for Bayonetta in the demo?

    I'm confused :(
  • tossetaz #32 2 years ago

Just played the demo - omw to gamestop to preorder the game :)

It's incredibly awesome - and I normally don't appreciate these types of games too much!
  • muscleblade #33 2 years ago

  • Hypercube #34 2 years ago

A very, very silly game! Played it twice before going to bed last night - finding it hard to see what the heck is going on a lot of the time. Also need to change the camera x-axis control, as Truth says.

Still, I'm certainly interested. The massive baddies are pretty cool!
  • muscleblade #35 2 years ago

I read a review in a scandinavian game magazine that says Bayonetta makes God of war feel like sesame street.

Made me laugh. Hope they put it on the box. LOL.
  • fiery_jackass #36 2 years ago

it's great fun and looks sumptuous, I'm expecting it to be the best of this-sort-of-thing for this generation. NGB is still my daddy though: less spectacular but so much more measured.
  • neonxaos #37 2 years ago

I was JUST about to call that out as a typo, but then I saw my own stupidity :D
  • menage #38 2 years ago

Holy shit, I already played the PS3 demo but that clocktower scene was fucking epic!. Preorder sealed.
  • bratmandu #39 2 years ago

Seriously, what are the Japanese smoking?

I don't usually like these types of games, in fact I hate devil may cry games and ninja gaiden games, but this bayonetta demo is a lot of fun and batshit insane. I chuckled more than a few times throughout, but fecked if i know what the hell was supposed to be goin on plot wise.

Everything you need to know about the game is here...................A sexy DMC. Awesome! ...........@ riz23

This is getting great reviews across the net, and it's clear that everybody here likes it. I just don't get it. I really don't like this at all and ended up just turning it off.

Demo was fun but was hard to work out what was going on half the time, I guess you'd get used to it eventually. Didn't quite feel as visceral as Ninja Gaiden Black and the combat seems less precise. Perhaps it just doesn't have the wow factor that game had when it first came out. Also it feels a bit like it was aimed at sexually-repressed teens, but it's certainly enjoyable enough in a popcorn, action-flick kind of way.
  • Xarius302 #47 2 years ago

    load of piss. hated it!
  • TheJuriel #48 2 years ago

This demo instantly sold me on the game.
  • ShiroBen #49 2 years ago

Utterly ridiculous and completely brilliant. Spiritual successor to God Hand? Yes please.
  • leafmulch #50 2 years ago

I love how the end of demo scorecard shows you the guy in various poses from falling down to very happy cross armed for gold (not got platinum yet). It totally reminds me of timesplitters2 which is probably the single game I've spent most time playing in my life, perhaps... please don't miss out on the extra bit of carnage by backtracking to the start of the level after defeating the beloved. Certainly ups your score a bit! :D
