Bay calls Boll "a f***ing idiot"

We're not sure this is relevant any more.

Michael Bay has dodged videogame film director Uwe Boll's boxing match challenge but has thrown yet more Internet punches in an ongoing slanging match that threatens to turn boring any second, if it hasn't already.

"Can we stop talking about this guy! I never even heard his name till last week when he made threats and rants. The guy is a f***ing idiot, making threats to me, Clooney, Eli Roth, says he has a doctorate - but uses the word "retard" in his vocabulary, come on," Bay wrote in the Ask Michael Bay section of his website.

He then went on to point out that Boll filmed his YouTube message asking for a fight in a "low rent offices, with 15 year old 3/4 machines, archaic computers" and said Boll was "some dumb chump trying to get some fame when he has none".

"Nothing sadder [than] when he had his screening in LA to an over half empty movie house," Bay added, before signing off by asking us all to drop the subject. Unless Boll does something spectacular in response, we probably will.

No-one else in the industry conducts themselves in the way Uwe Boll does. Yeah, we can have a giggle at his crappy movies, but you don't see the likes of Spielberg releasing statements to the press full of swearing and personal attacks on other members of the industry. Boll has absolutley no class, he never fails to come across as anything more than a cocky 15 year old. I think Bay can be excused for snapping.

    Was it ever?

    They should co-direct.

    Alone in the Harbor
    Transpostal

    I'd go and see that.

It only gets boring if "news" channels keep reporting this "news".
  • KingOfIceland #7 4 years ago

I hope this fight between them will spiral completely out of control and bad things will happen
  • Ghost_Dog #8 4 years ago

Bays response is just as childish.

"My office is way better than his"
  • TriggerHippie #9 4 years ago

Lol, while this is certainly amusing I have to wonder just how much relevance it has to gaming news.
  • Rirekon #10 4 years ago

    @ Wyrm;
In fairness, you could replace Uwe Boll with Michael Bay in your post and it would be just as meaningful, remember this is the idiot who started spouting off about HD conspiracies to undermine his films or whatever.

If the press would kindly mind not reporting on either of them, ever again, I'd be grateful.

    bay is just over excitable

boll is a ignorant, money grabbing half human fuck

EG should do a black out on the wretched cunt

  • That_Happy_Cat #12 4 years ago

yes please do... this is a games site not a movie site

I'm normally all for free distribution of news, but in this instance UI would quite happily sign a "no more news about Boll" petition. He used to be sort of funny, like a toddler falling over a lot. Now he is just boring.

Reading a headline about him (before I am able to gether my wits and point my eyes at something more interesting, like a blank post-it note) eats up seconds that I just can't get back.

Not gaming news. Can we have some more GTA IV news please?
  • kangarootoo #15 4 years ago

Yeah, 'cos there is nowhere near enough of that on the web right now, right? ;)

Am I the only one starting to feel a little bit of sympathy for Boll? I mean, everybody hates the guy, and he obviously does not have a normal understanding of the world. Still I think we need more Bolls to spice things up. Like the town idiots that used to do their own thing but today are hidden away in institutions. Let them direct movies in stead. Or maybe we just need bigger Bolls.

This is gaming news. Uwe Boll is the number one game to movie adapter. In number one i mean most movies not best movies.
Gamers dislike him for good reasons cause he make terrible movies based on fantastic games.
  • 4thVariety #20 4 years ago

I rather watch an Uwe Boll movie than a Michael Bay "Masterpiece". Being talked into paying money to go to the cinema and watch Transformers should be considered a crime.

So how about Mr. Bay stopped acting tough in commercials and started being tough and enter the boxing ring? Ahh I forgot, Boxing does not have big explosions.

I am not looking forward to the next effectspamming trashfest made by Mr.Bay.
  • HolyJebus #21 4 years ago

Here's a tip for everyone who wants to stop hearing about Boll and co. If there is a piece of new about him, don't click on the story. And definitely don't post a comment. EG post this "news" because every time they do they get a large number of hits. Don't complain when you are part of the problem. I couldn't give a fup either way.

When we all know it's "tard".
  • Vin #23 4 years ago

Sorry, did i just read that someone would rather watch a Boll film than Transformers?

Get out of the fucking thread.
  • Inquisitor #24 4 years ago

I've never seen a Boll film but transformers was the biggest pile of trash I saw last year, in fact, there's too many Bay films I have enjoyed.
  • GordonCaladan #25 4 years ago

Can we stop talking about this guy!

    Please!
  • CaptainScarlet #26 4 years ago

Come on, the world would be a much duller place if it wasn't for Mr Boll. Think of him as the Busey of the director world.....whats he going to come out with next :)

Its not wasted headline space, it's just a bit of fun. Thought it's a shame that EG didn't manage to work "GTA IV" into the title. the comments thread could have raged into the hundreds :)
  • zootle #27 4 years ago

Bay produces just as much shit as Boll. In fact, it's hard to tell the difference.
  • Crea #28 4 years ago

I love Uwe Boll. He's such a tool.
  • Muddtallica #29 4 years ago

4thVariety: "So how about Mr. Bay stopped acting tough in commercials and started being tough and enter the boxing ring? Ahh I forgot, Boxing does not have big explosions."

When did Bay ever posit himself as a "tough guy"? He's a film director who makes daft action movies for a young male audience; I don't remember ever pretending to be anything more. Certainly, I can't think of anything he's said or done that would bestow upon him some kind of moral or honorable responsibility to have a physical fight with a borderline psychotic German man; like the film critics that Boll beat up before, he's just a normal human being who's trying to get on with his own business.

I used to find Uwe Boll amusing in his oblivious ineptitude, but he's starting to get on my nerves; it seems clear that he's now realised that his being a joke director will only take his name so far, so he's trying to bolster his reputation by dragging easy targets into the mud with him. The joke's worn thin, Uwe; now you've just become a basic trash-press parasite like Rebecca Loos. Makes you wonder why he wasted all the time getting that dcoctorate he claims to have...

Next week on Michael Bay's Insightful Insights:

"So, the Pacific Ocean. It's a bit, um, wet."

Anyway, who is the better producer, Michael Bay or Uwe Boll? There's only one way to find out...
    Fiiiiight!
  • Bitkari #32 4 years ago

    Relevant, no.

    Funny, yes.
  • Shrike #33 4 years ago

The ironic thing is that Bay's movies look more like videogames than Boll's do.
  • Redeye #34 4 years ago

Boll and Bay *do* have something in common - they are both tedious, egomaniacal fucktards of the highest order.
  • Psi #35 4 years ago

I like the fact Bay spends the time to respond to questions on his site. I like even more the fact he'll say what the hell he thinks, not letting some PR prick or 'webmaster' release a statement.

His films aint godfather but they are canny popcorn munchers with whhoooaaaa that was a cool action sequence. Shit I've plenty time for films like that.

I've only watched Blood Raine and most of that was fast forward, damn it was shit.

(my fave film is millers crossing btw)

@Redeye "Boll and Bay *do* have something in common"

They both have surnames that start with the letter B. I'm suprised no one else picked up on that interesting fact.
