Battlestations: Pacific gets July extras

New units, maps, customisable battles.

Eidos has briefed us on the July arrival of new units, maps and battles for Battlestations: Pacific.

The Mustang Pack, which costs 160 Microsoft Points (GBP 1.36 / EUR 1.92), arrives today. Inside are six new units and 18 new pieces of nose art, plus the ability to customise single- and multiplayer battles.

The US P-51 Mustang bomber, US Alaska Class ship and Japanese Super Yamato Class ship are examples of the machinery on offer. What do they do? Kill things.

The Carrier Battles Map Pack docks on 23rd July for 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60). Here we find four scenarios: a clash of carriers at Midway; a misty morning battle on the Philippine Islands; a Kamikaze attack in the rocky Leyte Gulf; and a mountainous and icy water skirmish on the Aleutian Islands.

Pictures of the DLC can be found in our Battlestations: Pacific gallery.

Our thoughts on the game can be found in our Battlestations: Pacific review.

my only issue with this is where these units can be used, is it on any map that supports that type of unit, or just set maps, and cant you use them if other people dont have them?

What do you mean my "customization"? Have they added "aim assistance removal" options and allowed you to delay resource point refunding?

Can you play with other people with the £1.30 pack? if not they've just fragmented the userbase twice for no good reason, the extra multiplayer settings should have been patched in for free.

I still don't know what these MP features are.

Units should be okay, since those who unlock the extra units from the SP campaign can still use them against those who haven't.
