Battlestations Midway PC demo

Kill your friends before I do .

PC owners spoiling for a fight can now check out a multiplayer demo of Eidos' upcoming Battlestations: Midway.

Chasing after the Xbox 360 demo like an aeroplane whose pint it's spilt, the PC demo weighs in at around 570MB and consists of one map, called the Islands of Soloman. Obviously we have little idea what to expect from it.

Naturally you can grab the demo from an official download site, with other mirrors available. It's playable online or via LAN.

The full version of Battlestations: Midway is due out on 360 and PC from 9th February. You can see what we made of it in a recent playtest elsewhere on the site.

No offline skirmish mode, not even a tutorial - you can't even try the controller setup and graphics options before you go online. A tad less of a problem on the 360 due to the fixed graphics and control settings, but inexcusable for a PC demo.

    Really Lou?

/will later be looking for servers entitled "eurogamer" etc so I can learn the controls without getting laughed at too much

That probably won't work because you can't even (at least I haven't found an option) protect a game with a password, so unless you time it cleverly, chances are good your game will fill up with strangers. :p

I've had a quick go. Seems kinda cool. Took me far too long to work out what the hell was going on mind.

I'll set up an "EG" server at some point during the eve anyway, it was pretty quite so I doubt they'll be a huge increase in people jumping in unannounced.
