Battlefield Heroes hits 1m registrations News

PC News by Tom Bramwell

15 July, 2009

EA and DICE have announced that Battlefield Heroes has achieved one million registrations following its late-June public launch.

"The team is really proud to have hit one million registrations at this early stage," said Ben Cousins, the BFH team's general manager.

"Creating a character and gameplay experience that is totally yours is what sets this game apart - your hero can be anything from a bazooka-toting pirate, a grenade-throwing ninja or even a mime assassin!"

Battlefield Heroes is free to play via the game's website, although you can spend a bit extra to customise your character, with some customisation options available in return for in-game experience.

Why is it that a supposedly comic tongue-in-cheek shooter has only a hand full of weapons on offer, none of which are fun in any way. I might be tempted to play this again if there were more outrageous weapons, being able to buy a scarf and hat doesn't really tickle my fancy.

I've registered. Not played it though! 1943 lured me away to be honest. I suspect I'm not alone in that.

Just tried it. It was laggy, the 3rd person camera is really fucking annoying/gives me a headache and it CTD'd after 5 minutes.

Yeah, I registered and then stopped playing it 10 minutes later once i realised how shallow and un-fun it was.

I prefer Battlefield 1943, despite "repeatedly being shot in the face by 15-year-olds who spend 8 hours a day playing it".

How many actually play though? I am one of that 1 million, but it got uninstalled as soon as I played one round.

Boring, dull, etc.
