Battlefield 1943 to cost around a tenner
It's coming to XBLA and PSN in June.
DICE has announced a price for forthcoming arcade title Battlefield 1943.
The Xbox Live Arcade version will set you back 1200 Microsoft Points, which is GBP 10.20 / EUR 14.40 in the old money. It's set to cost USD 15 from the PlayStation Store, which works out about the same.
The game will launch on XBLA and PSN in June. The PC release is scheduled for September, with a price point yet to be confirmed.
Battlefield 1943 features three locations - Wake Island, Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima. You can play as the US Marines or the Imperial Japanese Navy, and battle it out over land, air and sea.

Luv the game (well - the original), but are we console owners going to be 'milked' now? Release maps at £2-£3 each between June and September while PC owners get the whole lot in one go for less?
We all moaned about micro transactions, but we are slowly being suckered by the "as little as possible" in the first release and then pay a premium for the rest. The other maps could all be coded and complete?
May not be the case for this, but EA (BF1943!) and The Godfather II made me laugh/cry - release the game and then within a fortnight, throw out a load of premium content. Appalling.
Unfair on the game - I am looking forward to it. Honest.
More an observation of the content...it's reasonable value in isolation but not if everything else is coming from the original at a few quid each...
