Batman PS3 unlocks Batcave in Home

Well, it does in America anyway.

The US PlayStation blog reports that the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will unlock a Batcave personal space - i.e. apartment for your avatar - in PlayStation Home.

Screens show, well, a dingy cave with suits of armour and the threatening-looking Batwing and Batmobile lurking within.

However, as European Home users will be well used to by now, there's no confirmation that the promotion will appear on this side of the Atlantic yet.

The latest Home update on the European PlayStation blog mentions the new limited-access MotorStorm Sphere event space, but offers nothing on Batman.

Arkham Asylum will be released in two weeks' time, and the PS3 version already boasts an exclusive in the form of a playable Joker. More at the Batman: Arkham Asylum gamepage.

Great idea if it comes to europe it might even finally tempt me to pick up batman.

I don't think I like the cynicism about Europe getting a raw deal here.

I bet there's plenty of novel-length literature you can pick up and read in the virtual Batcave which would need translating into the major European languages for which fluent translators have only been available for hundreds of years.

I'm still not interested in Home, just takes up too much space. I am buying the game after that awesome demo though.

Yeah, nice idea. Reward the player by giving them something extra and free for buying the game. I really can't understand why more developers don't do it instead of just dishing out (useless IMO) Achievement points and Trophies.

I'm sick and tired of Europe being treated this way!!! We should rally!! We should start online petitions!!! We should...

Actually, I don't give a shit. Hope the game is good, couldn't care less for the Batcave in Home.

That's actually a really cool idea. Hope the 360 release includes some freebies... fucking hell, Avatar Batsuits! How awesome would that be?

How about unlocking trophies in games leads to unlocking stuff for Home and maybe LBP Sackboys costumes :D

Would very much like to see my little sackboy running around dressed as Batman, Robin, Joker, Riddler, etc
Even better, it unlocks levels and equipment for LBP like firing the batarang instead of a painball gun.

RE5 did that. I got little Chris, Sheva and Jill figures for my apartment in home. Also got a treasure chest for getting all the treasures in the game.

But do you access it by pressing a red button in a bust of Shakesphere and sliding down the batpole?
  • jim1975 #13 3 years ago

will my friend be able to slide down my bat pole

Great idea, I hope Microsoft eventually do something useful with their achievements! I thought I read prior to this generation's release that they were going to be worth something, as online credits or whatever.
