Sounds good. I dont want to jump around as a stupid bear anyway. It looks like a decent lego game to me as opposed to all that Tt nonsense.

Oh no he didn't did he?

I still don't see why this won't be a massive pile of 'meh' though I'd still love to be convinced otherwise.

It might actually be quite good (at least it's something different for a change though one has to ask whether that goes well with the target demographic ;) ) but I can't help but wonder why people listened to the marketing guy that suggested the Banjo franchise should be dragged out for this game concept...

This is far and away my most wanted game in the lead up to Christmas, and I doubt I would feel the same if the vehicles weren't a part of it.

I like the looks of this. Certainly more enticing than the run-of-the-mill platformer.

@ ronuds,

Yep, but not more enticing than a platformer like Rare used to make them.
They used to own this genre. If I want to build stuff with pre-set pieces, I'd buy LEGO.

At least LBP gives you the freedom to create anything you want, that looks cool, this doesn't.

Oh well, I'm just pissed Rare has fallen from the demi-god status it once had.

I'm pretty excited by it. Would still like a "conventional" 3D platformer on 360 (a new one, too, not on XBLA) but this is deffo on my Xmas list.

Well, I never really got into the older B&K's, so can't really comment on Rare's past games.

I don't know if you can compare LBP to B&K? One is a side-scrolling platformer and the other is a 3D...umm, well, I don't know what it would be called. Is it still a platformer?

And one gives you the ability to build cars while the other gives you the freedom to build entire levels. Neither of them "let you create anything you want," though. I can't create a 3D FPS with LBP...I can only create different elements to add to a side-scrolling platformer.

Not saying one is better than the other, but I don't think they're comparable. The good thing about B&K is that I don't have to spend full price to find out if I like it or not.

I'm not shitting all over this for what it isn't. In fairness, I expected a platformer. If it's not a platformer, then I'm not interested. Maybe it'll be a kick-ass driving game, and by all accounts it sounds like a pretty appealing game, but in the same way that Mario Tennis doesn't do anything for me, Banjo & Kazooie drive probably won't either.

To be honest, I don't know how I got the crazy idea that this was actually a platformer. I hope it's clear to potential consumers before they buy/pre-order.

Are there any decent platformers for the 360? I don't think I've played a decent 3d platformer for years. I'm a little let down by this preview I must say.

I hope all old-school Banjo fans eventually get what they desire (even if it's a simple rehash of a decade old concept) and for the rest of us, I hope the challenges in this one turn out to have enough charm and life to them. I'm certainly getting it by the year's end.

so creating vehicles and people in spore is incredible deep and amazing but creating vehicles in this might get old quickly?

seems like it might have the scope to deliver some great stuff to me, just like Spore.

and (in reference to other comments) comparing it to a 2d platformer and level builder like LBP is apples to oranges.

Still undecided on this, not because its not a platformer, but everything ive read it seems to be fun, but for how long. The budget prices looks tempting though, as do the colourful worlds. The best part about this read was that you can build stuff into your vehicles that can take you up steep cliffs and over water, etc. Will def keep an eye on it thats for sure!

of the 4 missions available at Leipzig, there was only one racing and no brawling, I think there's more variety than this article makes it look like.

The vehicles are really fun to drive, but felt VERY light in the demo, you could stay in the air for quite some time, but at the same time, you could also use that to do some great stuff.

To the people saying that they don't know why this particular franchise was used, it seems very much like this needs some backstory in some respects and Banjo Kazooie is the one with just the right touch of wackiness that suits this. There's lots of little gems in the game, just on the demo levels, so it's especially good for all the little moments.

SOLD!

To the slightly dissapointed but overly excited Banjo Kazooie fanboy! (me)

I do think i'll spend more time in the N64 remake version than the 360 one though. More platforms please.

lol Mumbo Jumbo is a shaman of some sort. In the original games he changed your appearance to another creature which granted you abilities to enter other areas.

@Lexx: I'll defo give the game demo a shot. It's just, as a driving game, the franchise power is now zero. As a platformer, it had some clout in my mond. As a driving game, the sell has to begin from scratch. That's all. I'm absolutely not saying that the game will be shite by any means. Simply, it's not what I was expecting, hoping for and anticipating. Therefore, the sell will have to start over from scratch.

This sounds great. I don't want games to be all similar. It's great that they are trying something different with the franchise rather than just doing a next-gen reskin of the previous games (although I suspect a lot of people would prefer this).
