The BAFTA Video Game Awards have been pushed back from October 2008 to March 2009, GamesIndustry.biz reports.
The idea behind the move is that the panel can more accurately judge the games released throughout 2008. Last year some titles had to be judged before they were finished, with one eventually failing to be released in 2007 at all.
The event also took place just days before the established Golden Joysticks awards, a clash seen as potentially confusing.
Wii Sports took home the most honours last year, bagging six out of 13 BAFTAs it was nominated for. BioShock was recognised as the best game of the year, with Crackdown, Okami and God of War II also among the winners.
GamesIndustry.biz did not win any BAFTAs last year, but only because it's too important.
