Audiosurf gets meaty update
Developer responds to fans' requests.
Award-winning musical puzzle game Audiosurf has had been given a rather chunky update.
Most of the features added were suggested by fans of the game, and include Last.fm "audioscrobbling", being able to run the game as a music visualiser and the option to comment on scoreboards.
There is also a mod interface available for you creative types, although this has been usable in beta form for a while - the Audiosurf forum has a list of what has been made so far.
The Audiosurf update will be applied automatically when you load the game via Steam.
Audiosurf has you matching coloured blocks as your spaceship cruises along a Guitar Hero-style fretboard highway. The shape, speed, and mood of each ride is dictated by the music you're listening to.
It won Excellence in Audio at the Independent Games Festival earlier this year, and costs USD 9.99 on Steam - it comes with The Orange Box soundtrack, too.
We like it.

It's a fantastic game and this looks like a nice update. But I bet it still doesn't quite work properly though.

Audiosurf for the PS3 now! I'll buy me a copy the first day it's on PSN Store.

Many, many thousands of people, seemingly. This game was the centre of the party -I- had on saturday, anyway. Being near a desk isn't quite the horror-inducing trauma fest that a lot of people make it out to be!

Well, it's really "scrobbling", but the process needs a name - what would you call it?
Anyway, scrobbling is a very sweet addition, and the only thing I thought it needed after downloading the game. To be honest I'm very surprised they took the time to do it - thankful though, too.

Most people have much bigger music collections on their computer than anywhere else in their house, and Audiosurf plays great with a mouse.

Just a site (last.fm) that keeps track of the music you listen to on your computer and suggests similar artists you might enjoy based on what you do listen to.

Since when is it a puzzle game?
@coach_mcguirk:
360 support isn't in the menu but it's native to the game. Just plug your pad in before turning the game on and it'll work.
