I still can't decide if I like this or not... which is strange because I really enjoyed the first one.

I really enjoyed the first one although I never bought it but I do have problems with the extremely small size of all the characters in this one.

Tried the demo over the weekend hoping it would capture the essence and excitement of my favourite scrolling shooter, S.W.I.V. from my Amiga days, but sadly it wasn't to be. While there's nothing wrong the game, it all felt a little too generic and dull for my liking that I realised after ten minutes I was just pressing the fire button and thinking about something else entirely not the game I was playing. That told me all I needed to know. Not for me I'm afraid...

I like this game. the review is pretty accurate in many respects - but kind of weird that it sounds so miserable then gives it 7...
It's probably a 6 and a half really, good fun, mildly uninspired but i don't think it needs to be. It never makes any claims to be anything other than a simple down the line shooty thing and it delivers on that promise perfectly well. Worth my few quid anyway. |

So after that shit review it gets a 7/10?
70% is well over the low average the review made out. By comparison 70% would get you an A at A-Level and a 1st class Degree at university. EG really need to sort their scoring policy out. Like Benno says "As good as assassins creed then?". So if I made a promise of a game of a white square on a black background and I gave you a white square on a black background, would that be worth a high score? If a game promises shit and delivers shit it doesn't make it good. |
