Looks purdy! Hopefully it'll be a decent port and won't tax my Geforce 8800 GTS 320 too much.
  • IAmBatman #2 4 years ago

That certainly does look like Assassin's Creed.
  • wayn3h #3 4 years ago

Runs like a dog on my 7900GT,4400x2,2GB.

If I remember right they reccomend 3GB of RAM. :|

    most demanding pc game ever?
  • MrWonderstuff #6 4 years ago

How come you guys are playing it when it isnt out? Journos or ye be pirates?
  • Whizzo #7 4 years ago

Pirates most likely, some moron from a media outlet leaked their preview copy but it was watermarked so they know who did it.
  • wayn3h #8 4 years ago

meh. Not a pirate. I am merely trying before I splurge my cash. And I wont stop because if I'd bought this it would have been a waste of 25 quid seeing as it barely runs on my system. Even though I clear the minimum specs by a long shot.

I did the same with Crysis before I bought it. Incidentally a much better looking game and I would imaging should be the more demanding but I can run that on med-high no probs.

I curse shitty console ports. grrrrr

Best excuse ever! No really.. never heard that one before.
  • Nuada #10 4 years ago

I wonder if the PC version will have more than one level?

It's arseholes like retrend and wayn3h^! that are killing PC gaming as a platform.
  • wayn3h #12 4 years ago

    Fuck you.

It's assholes like Ubi who are killing PC gaming. If they didn't release such resource intensive pap they might sell a few more copies.

@Dizzy; If you'd like to see pics of my extensive PC game collection I'll happily post them. I do buy games. But I'll try the first level or two from a downloaded copy first. I'm fed up of buying poorly ported bollocks.

Get on your high horses all you want.

    Kids.

So you downloaded Crysis, for example, when there was a perfectly representative demo freely available?

    Stop making weak fucking excuses.

That's complete nonsense. Big developers like UBI are killing the PC gaming because they focus soley on "the big buxx" of the console market only acknowledging the PC with a shitty PC port. Just look at CoD4 PC sales to see how piracy is an overblown excuse.
  • MrWonderstuff #15 4 years ago

That sounds fair...but its an excuse made by an awful lot of people. As for wayn3h^!, lets give him the benefit of the doubt. Just post a pic of you holding the box once you have bought it and we can all be happy. ;-)
  • UncleLou #16 4 years ago

    Really, really bad example.

And even if it is ovrblown, and/or nobody of the pirates would buy a copy anyhow (reason enough anyhow, maybe they just don't want people playing their games for free, even if they'd never buy it), it's an issue because devs and publishers see it as one.

Download you stuff all you want, just stop making silly excuses, I am bloody tired of them. And admit to yourself that you're part of the problem.

Getting away from the piracy discussion for a moment...

I love this game on 360, but I just can't see how it's going to work with a keyboard and mouse. Saying that, if I didn't already have it, I'd be sorely tempted to pick it up just to see how pretty it looks on my 8800GT :) Anyone know if there's anything different in the PC version? How does it merit a 'Director's Cut' label?
  • 7creature #19 4 years ago

Hmm, screenshots look pretty bad. Considering the requirements, I would expect something which would look nice. Those are some HL2 launch day "quality" textures >_>
  • Royal Fool #20 4 years ago

retrend and wayn3h^!: I hope your houses burn to the ground.
  • Les #21 4 years ago

"How does it merit a 'Director's Cut' label?"

Here's hoping they cut all the boring parts... ;)
  • Wyrm #22 4 years ago

    Core 2 Duo 6600
    2GB Ram
    8800 GT
    Vista

Runs like warm honey with everything maxed out. Considering the unplayable jerkfest that is Crysis and the requirements for this game, I was surprised.
  • apainlessa #23 4 years ago

Crysis runs much much better after you patch it to v1.1 ... I'm currently replaying the game just cause its possible to get 24fps with most settings on very high :)))
I hope all those delays will mean a much better gaming experience for pc gamers. they had at least 3 months or more to get feedback on the console versions. screens look good btw
  • megadaisy #24 4 years ago

I think if you pirate games you cant really blame the developers for not bothering with a decent PC version can you? Its just logic.
  • lolfish #25 4 years ago

Pirates are scum whatever your/their excuse is. Show some fucking loyalty to the industry why dontcha?

At any rate, worth a buy. Got it for the 360 and might pick up the PC version.
  • Lanceret #26 4 years ago

Runs fine on my 1950x. I own the game on xbox 360 apart from the 2 or 3 new ways of getting information on kills its just the same game unfortunately. Ubisoft for all the extra time they had havn't done anything with the game. By the way on the pirate discussion i don't want to waste a load of money on a crap single player game that lasts me less than 10 hours i'll buy games if it has some staying power such as a good multiplayer.

Fact is, it's not really piracy at the moment. It's currently physically impossible for me to give Ubisoft any money for a PC version of Assassins Creed. I'm treating it as a demo.

Once you get over the glorious environments, it's very repetative, I won't be buying it.
  • wayn3h #29 4 years ago

    Ditto.

I played for about an hour. Or at least watched a graphically impressive slideshow for about an hour, and wont be going near it either. If it was actually any good and ran on my system I would have bought it.

Don't believe me? All I have to say is...

    careface?
  • UncleLou #30 4 years ago

But since when can you trust pirates? Playing buggy and incomplete pre-release code, probably having PCs innfested with malware, don't really care about games as demonstrated by their behaviour, and usually have a short attention span because the next download is just round the corner.

I still remember the idiots reporting how Stalker was shit, hehe. Games that don't give instant gratification (but are often much more rewarding in the long run) usually get dismissed.
  • badabing #31 4 years ago

The bottom line is the more PC games that get downloaded illegally the less resources publishers will put behind the PC version and in the long term they'll be less and less PC specific games developed.

If you want to talk about people killing PC games wayn3h^! take a look at yourself.

If you want a real world example look at Heroes of Might and Magic V

The last one sold 15,000 copies in the UK but their are over 100,000 people playing it....... .now thats hardly try before you buy!

Our local publisher leaked the fully translated version. It may be a coincidence, of course.

As for the game, arrr, should've pirated some porn instead.
