Vice still hogging No.1 slot

The Getaway makes another charge

Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City remained an immovable object at the top of the UK chart this morning, with Sony's The Getaway storming back up 19 places to No.2 after its recent run in with BT.

EA also continued its monopoly of top selling games, with seven out of the top 11 games being published by the U.S behemoth - with one of those being the well received Sim City 4 - a new entry at No.4.

The bulk of the chart is still dominated by PS2 releases, with the highest placed Xbox only title being Ubi Soft's Splinter Cell at No.16, while exclusive GameCube and GBA titles were notable by their continued absence from the Top 40. Starfox Adventures continues to be the best selling GameCube title - although remains outside even the Full Price Top 40.

The budget charts, meanwhile, sees EA's Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone knock Crash Bandicoot: Wrath Of Cortex off the No.1 slot. Interestingly, several recent full priced releases figure in the All Formats budget chart - notably Haven (Midway, No.10), Rally Fusion (Activision, No.14), X-Men: Next Dimension (Activision, No.28), and Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 (Activision, No.30).
