Konami Gamers' Day launches 2003

New titles, old titles, new old titles, it's all here!

Konami Gamers' Day has drawn to a close in San Francisco, where the publisher announced 16 US titles for 2003. The publisher chose to announce several new titles - Casino Manager (PC), Cy Girls (PS2), K-1 World Grand Prix (PS2), McFarlane's Monsters (PS2), Ninja Five-O (GBA), Street Kings (working title, PS2/Cube) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (PS2/Cube/PC/GBA) - whilst also updating classic franchises with Bloody Roar (Xbox), Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA) and Gradius V (PS2).

Konami also reminded us that MGS2: Substance and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (both PS2) are due out this March, with Silent Hill 3 (PS2) set for the summer.

What's more, despite failing to offer us any advance warning of the Gamers' Day, the publisher has made amends to a certain extent with a UK release schedule which gives firm dates to key titles. Beginning today with the release of ISS Advance (GBA), the firm will release titles like Contra: Shattered Soldier (PS2 - Feb 14th), MGS2: Substance (Xbox/PC - March 7th, PS2 - March 28th) and ISS3 (PS2/Cube/PC - March 28th).

And Konami has also revealed that Substance on the PC will ship with the fabled 'Document of Metal Gear Solid 2' DVD, a huge boost and one of the things we most wanted to get our hands on in Europe this year.

Overall, it's a busy first quarter for Konami, with more than 20 titles due out before the beginning of April, but we're sure it will be worth it. For us at least. Here's the full schedule:
