Army of Two: The 40th Day demo dated

It's coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PSP too.

Electronic Arts has confirmed a demo for Army of Two: The 40th Day is on the way.

It will include most of the game's first level, in which heroes Salem and Rios are trapped in Shanghai as it comes under attack.

The demo will be available via PlayStation Network and Xbox Live on 17th December. A taster of the PSP game is also in the works and will be released in Europe on 14th January.

Army of Two: The 40th Day is all about co-operative play, weapon customisation and shouting. There's also a four-player mode, Extraction, which sees you fighting off hordes of enemies - it will be exclusively available to those who pre-order the game at launch, while everyone else will have to wait a month.

The original Army of Two was released back in March and scored a respectable 7/10 on Eurogamer. Was it your game of the year? Read our review for a reminder of what it's all about, and don't forget to cast your vote.

Gah, in my morning haze I thought this was going to be the game's release date. Missed the part of the headline about it being a demo. Enjoyed the first a lot more than I thought I would after I picked it up to play with a friend online.

One of the rare game which coop worked very well from start to finish of the campaign, the other one was RE5. One of my first Live friends was met in this game, we played a few rounds of MP than decided to do story mode from start to finish, and it was very entertaining.
