Army of Two campaign DLC in April

Two new maps in Chapters of Deceit.

EA Montreal has announced a new "campaign map pack" for Army of Two: The 40th Day called Chapters of Deceit.

Chapters of Deceit will cost $9.99 on PSN and 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80 / €9.60) on Xbox Live and will be available on 1st April.

The expansion sees Salem and Rios working through two new co-op campaign maps in which they discover intel that could end the invasion of Shanghai.

For reasons I'm beyond understanding, there are screenshots on Facebook and there's a trailer on the official site.

Why is the PSN price always quoted in dollars now? I mean it would be fine if publishers followed the exchange rate when pricing in the UK but the vast majority don't and hike up the price by as much as a third when compared to MSP equivalent.

Anyway, I'm nearly finished the campaign in co-op with my brother now and I've loved it, it's even better than the first one. Just a shame that the versus mode is unplayable due to lag. Will consider the DLC if it's priced right over here and I can convince my brother to spring for it as well.

The game was good bu the ending was not. As a huge fan of the first game I was sadly disappointed in the complete and utter lack of a climax. The first game released a 2 level mission pack for free. Two levels would take about an hour, maybe an hour and a half. I don't think that fits the ten dollar limit. Assassins creed 2 dlc, while not the best quality, is considerably lengthier, and less expensive.

I'll probably get the DLC too. My wife loves AoT, and while I found the 2nd one to be a little boring and not a patch on the first one, any couch co-op action is most welcome.

Another game, another lot of DLC released shortly after the game comes out.

Trying not to sound ungrateful, but is there any reason why these extra levels developed alongside the main game presumably, were not on the retail disc?

The Army of Two 40th Day campaign was pretty short in my opinion. You can just see the publisher thinking to themselves, let hold these two chapters back and flog them to the punters for another £8 once the game comes out. Ching ching.

I don't think it's too short, it's not as long as it could be certainly but it's definitely longer than the first one. Playing on hard more for example makes levels up to twice as long in terms of duration once you factor in setbacks and deaths and whatnot.

The real issue is that with DLC this soon after release it's highly likely that it was at least partially developed alongside the main game. My problem with that isn't that the DLC could have been part of the game but that developer time was split between the game and the DLC in those critical late stages of development where the vast majority of the bugfixing is done.
