Just a warning on the trial by fire mission, the friendly AI are more gung-ho and suicidal than usual in this mission for some reason. Oh and you'll probably want to tweak the graphics settings before you decide if you should shell out for the whole game (which is a steal at 25 Queenpounds or less).

I'd love to try this, I'm not sure if my machines up to it. I know my old one couldn't handle AmrA 1.

So can someone clarify for me, is this the one that's by the developers of Operation Flashpoint, and hence it's spiritual sequel? Or is Flashpoint II actually by the oroignal development team?

This is by the original OFP dev team. Flashpoint 2 is being done in house at Codemasters

Anyone know when this is supposed to be coming to the 360? I'm so jealous of PC gamers right now... I'd give my right arma (sorry!) to play this. It's right up my street and looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks Freelance & Carrot :)

I fancy this, but from my short time with ArmA I found I was rubbish at it. Hopefully I'm better at games now. Doubt it though :P

@Jenson Jet,

There is talk of a 360 version, but I'm not aware of any port in development yet. I guess if enough people express an interest somehow, it'll become more of a priority.

i think they will have to spend alot of time nuking bugs before the could do a 360 version from the sound of it though /looking forward to patches!

tell me it has the Little Bird helicopter in it please :) I LOVED flying those in the first one. Got real good at hugging the terrain and pop up attacks.

oh, and +1 for 360 version news. i can't justify the cost of building a PC for games these days :(

The tutorial levels are pretty bad...fucked if I can figure out how to fly the chopper.

I did very well in the parachute jump though.

Metalfish, thanks for the reply. I'm sure I had read that one was in development. If there isn't and they're waiting for interest from console owners, I'm stuffed! This looks far too realistic and hardcore for the arcade loving console fraternity!

@RedPanda, At the moment there is no little bird. Plenty of choppers, but most of them are large. I'd expect to see them in the inevitable exp pack, though.

The Little Birds have been ported to Arma 2:

It's worth keeping an eye on the BIS mod forums, some very talented modders, scripters and mission makers often come out with terrific stuff.

The demo includes both single and multiplayer from what I've read.

Also I understand this demo is a later build than the v1.02 patched retail version so AA is enabled as an in-game option. How annoying that a demo has an extra feature the full game doesn't!!!

DL'ed and installed this last night and it crapped itself at launch ("unable to find 3Daudio.dll" or something) and suggested that reinstalling it might help. It was late so I didn't bother but I'll give it a shot again, like the idea of this game.

Look to the forums, you probably need to download DirectX9.3 I think.

I had the dll error too - you just need to install the March2009 DirectX redist:

I got the full game last week - and when it works its a brilliant amazing game so id reccomend anyone whos interested try the demo

In the the sigle player campaign there are a few big bugs that need squishing very soon though, its not made it unplayable, but its come quite close on occasion.

Multiplayer on the otherhand works great.
