APB swings into closed beta

Testing starts three nights a week.

Kotaku and our forum report that invites have been sent out for the closed beta test for Realtime World's APB.

According to posters on the Eurogamer forum, there are three limited time windows a week at this early stage of testing: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings from 7pm to 11pm, the first hour being resvered for the "Social District" only.

You can still apply for a place on the beta at the APB webiste.

The sort-of-massively-multiplayer but subscription-free game of cops and robbers is due for launch early next year on PC. Check out the APB gamepage for Tom's PAX preview of the game and more.

    Well done mate -

    But just to warn you,this is a closed beta and there could be an NDA you signed when you applied.

    Basicly if you have you

    A) Can't disclose you are in a beta
    B) Record/Post images or videos of the game around the website
    C) Reveal no information that is not currently available to public knowledge.

    Bearing in mind Eurogamer posted this very late, the Beta started last week, the fact even wiki has very little information suggests there is a NDA and no information is allowed to be posted.

    Just warning you mate be careful before you go around talking about it.

    lol eurogamer now reporting news from it's own forum posters instead of going to the source. And reporting info that may be in breach of an NDA which they have probably signed themselves.Classic! for so many reasons. =P made my day.

    @Amblin

    Why i made my post

    At least they are not doing what Kotaku did and ask people to send in screens of the game.

    But still if anyone is in keep it to youselves and if you need to talk about it talk to the people in there with you don't risk getting kicked off.

    There's nothing in the NDA to forbid you revealing you are in the beta.

    You're not allowed to talk about the game itself, it's performance, quality or post screens or videos of the beta in action.

    I am a beta tester and I confirm that there ARE guns in the game. It's also quite good fun.

    I am a beta tester for this project and I'd love to be able to talk about it but if i do they'll take away my fun!

    @thesonglessbird

    of course there are guns in the game thats public knowledge. Glad to see you having fun

    I have never seen a case where testers are not allowed to say that they are testers. If its a decent build then people could say how impressed they are without breaching the NDA, like some sort of marketing. Could be some vids on youtube already.

    does this mean if i haven't got an invite already i wasn't selected? mega sucks... i wrote on the form that i used to be a QA tester and beta tested wow, huxley, etc, you'd think they want my types... buggers.

    I just put down that not many people have a 4870x2 because its not really a sensible choice for single gpu oriented games engines but i would provide feedback for this card under various driver scenarios to see if i could help out.
