Another quiet week for PAL PSN News

PSP PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

6 March, 2008

Fans of thatgamecompany's flOw are the beneficiaries of some additional content for their mutant-worms-underwater-'em-up this week, courtesy of the PAL PSN update.

The flOw expansion pack will set you back GBP 1.99, and is petty much the highlight of this week's update to the PS3 and PSP Stores on Sony's network service.

The only other premium downloadable is the No Doubt track pack for Guitar Hero III, which arrives for GBP 3.99 (for the record, the asking price was GBP 4.25 on Xbox Live).

The tracks included are Don't Speak, Excuse Me Mr and Sunday Morning. So, the one everyone knows and two others.

Elsewhere on PSN, there's a Warriors Orochi PSP wallpaper, a "Graffiti" theme for PS3, and a selection of film and game trailers.

My bluetooth remote control has been the most exciting addition to my Ps3 lately. (actually, I was pretty excited)

"A very disappointing update to the Playstation Store."

No... "disappointing" indicates expectations which most PS3 owners do not have anymore req. PSN updates :|

The word "sucky" is more suitable IMO.

Guess they're saving it all back for the supposed big April update. Cocknobs.

@Arbiter

Can't speak for everyone but the sore point for me is how the EU PSN store has been lacking so far behind the others due to so called localisation.

I agree with Shrui... the European support on PSN is just bad. Look at the release of Pain. I know, not a big game (it's more about fun and physics) but still... They announced it for sooooooo long. The US has it for ages. Sony, don't give the European gamers the blurb. I know (as I work in that industry) that they are testing in-game advertising with that game and use it as an adserving beta, but why should the release date of a downloadable PSN game not have the same comittment as a game you buy off the shelf? Army of Two comes out in the UK on Friday. Fullstop. Pain has been announced over and over again in the press. Yawn...

On a positive side: at least they are going to relaunch the PSN service...

"due to so called localisation."

But we still get "colour" spelt as "color" and "localisation" is "localization"!!

Has anyone noticed how this country's dates are now MM/DD/YY and not DD/MM/YY, ever since the London Tube bombings, and we go around calling it July 7th Bombings?!

Is that propaganda, or what?!

I am liking my Warriors Orochi wallpaper. Still disappointing on PS3, at least Xbox Live has something playable every weak.

I think they should give up on Thursday updates and just stick things up when ready (like Live). Only Live arcade stuff is on a set day of the week. That should also spread the load when stuff is released.

flOw sucks!
You know they released it this week because there is nothing else decent to download.
I played this with friends for fifteen minutes, thinking something might happen. It didn't.
Oh well, it made us laugh.
