Alone in the Dark for Wii, PS2
Strong sales force hand?
Atari has revealed that it will also be offering Alone in the Dark on PS2 and Wii.
The survival-horror game was previously restricted to "next-generation" platforms, otherwise known as PC, PS3 and 360. Presumably the continued success of the PS2 and market leading sales of the Wii have changed its mind.
Developer Hydravision of Obscure renown will be making the new versions and getting to grips with the Wii controls and ageing PS2 hardware to offer the best experiences possible.
Alone in the Dark is due for release on 360 and PC sometime before March 2008, with the PS3 version to follow. No dates are mentioned for the PS2 and Wii offerings, but expect them around the same time.
Pop over to our Alone in the Dark gamepage to see how scary it is.

About the same, I'd imagine. The Wii version has a 99.9% probability of being a shit port of the PS2 edition.

Only wondering how they ll use the structure, story over onto PS2 and Wii. By saying they ll make a 'new version' is a clear acknowledgement cannot port it to 'inferior' hardware. Still would be a worry for PS3/X360/Ninja PC if Hydravison manage to make their new version a better one to play than the proper version!

third party devs release these shitty ps2/psp ports with waggle, and release them at full price of 60 euro, then start crying when no one buys their shitty ports (e.g. Alien Syndrome, a shitty psp port of an archaic mediocre handheld game, released at 60 euro, who the hell thought that would be a good idea?)
try making a good game, from the ground up guys, you might have more luck and sell a few copies

And not a good kind of "scary".

Hmmm, no, I prefer to remain indecisive and make cheeky one liners that don't really have any content in them.

Fixed for correctness.

SirDespard - "Surely an attempt to maximise revenue from any suitable stream due to the shocking financial state of Atari. If this flops, they're in big trouble.

I think between these two posts these guys have just about hit the nail on the head. This game has looked fairly unimpressive so far IMO, and I expect the PS2 and Wii versions to be horrendous. Not what either console wants or needs.

Cool. I hadn't realised they were going so far as to even make a PS1 version. It's been ages since I've bought a new game for my trusty old original Playstation.

Surely the ps2 will get a crappy port if the Wii version and not the other way round.
