What a pity. Rebellion can't even make a good game out of their historically best franchise? I'm guessing they're just drooling on their desks.

Bueller? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

They still cant better the AvP FPS games released way back in 99 and 2001. I still think there amazing, especially the marine missions.

Chalk up another 4 to Ellie.

Now taking bets on when she cracks and goes on a psychotic publisher-slaying shotgun rampage. Emails to the usual address.

Oh dear. There was never much doubt this would be arse, but secretly I hoped Rebellion would shock us all and make good on this somewhat unsuitable platform.

And the 'Give Ellie a good game to review' bandwagon rolls onward...

How odd, I was playing AvsP on the Jaguar at the weekend and wondering when the next craptacular version was due out.

The Jaguar game was, and still is, great fun to play. Shame they cannot make a game of that quality these days.

Other thing I notice from this is that if Ellie does get sick of all these crap games she has a fallback career in the BBC sitcom dept!

Shame.

Wasn't the Jaguar version excellent? Why not port and enhance that version?

Like élbéróss says, the AvP PC shooters were awesome. Well, AvP1 was, I never got into 2. It just didn't feel/look/sound right.

Didn't they make this from scratch in 9 months? Wasn't that the main reason they were hired for this....?

nickthegun - "Is this the game of the film?"

Yep. Oddly, I think it's a PSP-only game.

groovychainsaw - "Didn't they make this from scratch in 9 months? Wasn't that the main reason they were hired for this....?"

Quite possibly - I was reading an interview with a Rebellion man in this month's Edge, and he says how they churn out games in record time, sometimes just a matter of months.

Still, I'd rather have an excellent game which took three years to develop than shitty nine-month-developed games like this.

Ian comes home one day and finds that Steve has left as bunch of eggs all over his back garden. Finding the milkman unconscious among them, he takes him into the house, where 'milky' starts to moan about a pesky chest pain!!

It's a sure-fire hit!! LOL

My mate worked on this game, along with Battlefront: Renegade Squadron. At least his part of the game works well! :oP

Requiem seems essentially to be Renegade Squadron minus infrastructure multiplayer and minus all the interesting weapons.

Generic Rebellion PSP shooty engine seems to be whacked into just about any IP going at the mo.

And then at the end of each episode, something happens that makes them think that they're perhaps not so very different after all. But then Steve Aliens spoils the moment by tripping over or having his trousers fall down and things go back to normal.

Seriously, I don't read Ellie reviews anymore.
You click on the review on the front page. You see Ellie on the top right and think "oh, a shit game then" and scroll down to see this confirmed in the score.

It takes about 5 seconds and a lot more efficient than actually reading the whole thing to find out why it's a shit game.

AvP on the PC was one of the most intense games I've ever played.

As for some of Rebellion's other games, I found Sniper Elite and Rogue Trooper to be pretty enjoyable.

Why would a developer boast about making a game within 9 months? Oh wait, they must be arseholes. Yes that's it.

Bent Coppers

Ian and Iain Bent are brothers who are policemen. One is corrupt and the other is homosexual. They both suffer from curvature of the spine, and they're made of copper. With hilarious consequences.

Why are companies dumping crap in the run-up to Saturnalia? Do they know grannies will buy whatever they find for little Junior and hope he likes it?
