Alarm clock now set for 14th May.

Microsoft has announced that Xbox 360 thriller Alan Wake will hit European shelves a week earlier than planned.

The game had been due to launch here on 21st May. However, according to a press release which includes not only the phrase "raise the bar" but perennial classic "true cinematic experience", it's now arriving on the 14th.

"Fans in the UK have been crying out to get their hands on Alan Wake since it was first announced and we're thrilled to be able to deliver it to them early," said Xbox bossman Stephen McGill.

Alan Wake sees you playing as Alan Wake, a crime writer investigating the mysterious disappearance of his wife, Mrs Wake. It all looks very spooky and good, as you can see for yourself via the old gamepage.

Wow, next big gamesurge coming up. Red Dead, Alan and SSF4 whoohoo.

I'm bored out of my mind right now, FFXIII doesn't really do it for me, boring piece of badly designed shit.

First LP2 and now Alan Wake. They are both afraid of Red Dead Redemtion no doubt. All three on 21 May would have been overkill.

I think Aaron was pointing out that they've delayed and delayed and delayed the game, then suddenly brought it forward a week early. I think its quite funny that they've done that

I've cancelled all my preorders as I've got too many games to play, but I'll still get this on release, been waiting too long!

I wonder if Rockstar move forward Red Dead a week? They probably have the confidence not to. But both Lp2 and AW is going to sell great so most people buying one of these or even both will probaly wait a little before investing into Red Dead Redemtion.

Anyone out there looking for something to tide them over til 14th May should take a look at Toy Soldiers.

I've been playing non-stop and still haven't sussed everything yet - bloody addictive multiplayer is a bonus.

Now, where is the Defense Grid DLC?

just to point out also as this article didnt mention..... we are getting it ahead of USA and Japan. Well I thought it was worth a mention.

European release May 14th.
North American release May 18th
Japan May 27th
