Age of Conan free trial is back

Seven days of free barbarianism.

Funcom has relaunched the free trial scheme for Age of Conan, offering seven free days in the world of Hyboria to anyone with the patience to download the hefty game client.

You get the whole thing with just a few communication restrictions: you can't trade with others, post on forums or use in-game mail, and you can only use public chat channels.

You can register for the trial over at the official Conan site.

This is a chance to try out the new RPG system and content which was patched in to the game in the critical Update 5 this summer. We re-reviewed the game at the time and said it had become a "flawed gem".

    Any idea if I can use the 7 days + the initial free 30 days with my still shrinkwrapped retail copy?

    I don't plan to subscribe since I only want to see the single-player portions + the gore and for that 30 or 37 days are enough.

    I imagine so, dingo, just start the trial and once it ends, re-activate it with the retail key and you'll get another 30 days with it. Just make sure you cancel your subscription before the month is up.
    I've been meaning to give this another try for a while myself. I subbed for a couple months right after launch and loved it, but there wasn't enough content to keep me going. From what I hear, the game has completely turned itself around for the better.

    MMO clients are huge, they should redevelop so you download what is necessary than while you play they stream the rest of the content to you. I mean, some high-end raid content I won't need from the get go, so stream it to me later!

    im afraid that ship has sailed for me.
    there too many better games coming out for me to give this a second chance.

    i think Age of Conan is still one of the best MMORPGs out there because of its atmosphere. It runs great on my PC so I can enjoy the graphocs too. the only thing is, i dont have the time. maybe around christmas i will reactivate for 30 days to play trough the expansion if they manage to release it on time

    3 months ago I played through the trial and I loved it. Luckily I found the box in a store in my city for 19 euros (new), gonna make it mine this week, can't wait.

    I just hope they can dupe enough people into buying it and keep money coming in...

    so they will stop fucking sacking people from the Secret World team ^^
