Before people spit hate and rage, I don't think it's their intention (though it might be their fantasy) that everyone buys every single music game released. The audience for Guitar Hero/Rock Band is different than to DJ Hero which are both different to Lips/Singstar. People who aren't into the rock and metal of Guitar Hero might want to pick this up instead, and vice versa.
If you must play every single game ever released, regardless of whether it appeals to you, then to be frank price shouldn't be your primary concern.

I am in no way defending the pricing of this game (it's not one I'd consider anyway), but I am getting pissed off with this lazy journalism:
"Frustratingly, DJ Hero will only cost Americans 120 dollars, according to GameStop - which translates to around GBP 73" Well, that's not quite the correct way to compare prices with our US cousins, it is? The $120 quoted is without sales tax, so doing a direct currency conversion and adding the necessary VAT to the full price and you have around £84. Still some way from the £108, but more in line with the quoted UK retailer price of £94. |

I am soo glad that these types of games dont appeal to me, or Id be pretty ticked off with that sort of pricing. Even if the UK and other areas prices were inline with eachother, thats too much for me personally for one, repetitive game.

£50 was my limit for World Tour, and I really had to give that a GOOD THINK.
With this being twice as much AND seeing the poor post product support of World Tour (hello trophies? hello downloadable content which is good? hello importing old tunes?), this is a big ask. Perhaps we can get Sony to badger Activision and tell them to piss off anyway? |

Haha, good one! But yeah, this seems waaaaay overpriced. Considering I'm in the camp that thinks a standard current-gen game is overpriced it's not rocket science to acknowledge that I think this is absolutely ridiculous. Unfortunately, complain as we may, the game is still going to sell and therefore enforce publishers to continue this nonsense.

rotmm is correct, US price is quoted sans sales tax and ours includes VAT; another point is that UK price will also include Import Duty too. I am not defending Activision, but there is a lot of tax in our price. :( |

This whole tax debate is by the by. I personally couldn't care less what people in the US will pay for this. If they get it for 98 pence then I say fair play to them. At least SOMEONE out there is getting a bargain.
All I care about is what I would have to pay if I bought it in the UK. And £108 is an awful lot of dosh for a single game that can only be played by one person at a time. |
