Activision confirms GH3 tracks News

PC PlayStation 2 DS Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 Wii
News by Robert Purchese

3 October, 2007

Activision has finally given us a look at its song sheet for Guitar Hero III, which contains more master tracks than ever, thanks to fancy relationships with musical people.

What's more, it looks as though that leaked line-up from a couple of weeks ago wasn't far off being spot on, give or take a few licks.

The third game in the acclaimed rhythm action series has been created without usual developer Harmonix, who made new best friends with Rock Band publishers EA and MTV.

However, Guitar Hero III still promises many riches: wireless guitars, expanded online multiplayer, availability on just about every platform - that's on top of better visuals, unlockables, and new downloadable content.

Guitar Hero III will be released for PS3, 360, PC, Wii and PS2 on 23rd November. A DS spin-off will follow in 2008.

Look below for the entire line-up to date.

Tarantula by the Pumpkins would be a brilliant song for GH 4.

Great track list!
I'm getting it, but I'm also getting Rock Band, and the Rock Band guitar is better due to the second set of frets, but coming out later.

No sign of a PS2 -> PS3 guitar converter...

What do we do???

Some bona fide classics such as 'One' and 'Raining Blood' but the usual "why on earth did they pick that track" - like "3's & 7's" by QOTSA - they've done about 50 tracks better than that. And don't even get me started on shit like Ruby

Mixed bag - hey ho, it's GH so there has to be some tracks to hate. ;)

While we're on the subject of GH
What ever happened to all the download-able tracks for GH2 - weren't they supposed to be releasing every GH1 track for download. I know they released a couple, did they get scared off by the pricing backlash?

I cant wait for this. I just wish activision would confirm a few things such as backward compatibilty (ie can i play gh1/2 on my ps3 via the new guitar? Is the guitar likely to work with rock band? Its important because space is a premium in my allready cluttered room and i only have space for one guitar peripheral (and eventually one drum kit).

They went to my school. They are really good, saw them in the barfly in Camden a few months back.

Damn...Might have to get this after all...

Though I got GH a long time after release and one of the better things about the experience was unlocking a new tier of songs and being overjoyed at finding some favorite bands...
But now I already know everything :(

Slipknot? theres a surprise wasn't expecting them, listening to the track now, its alright not brillant wait n bleed, spit it out or Duality would have been better. Other than that looks like a pre order and and easy to travel with wireless guitar sounds like just the thing.

Pretty good track list overall, a nice mix of stuff. A good mix of stuff I've heard of and stuff I haven't (assuming the stuff I haven't is good of course).

Good Slipknot track choice. Bad Lacuna Coil choice imo. There are a shed load of better RATM tracks (Bulls on Parade is ok I suppose, but its from perhaps their worst album overall). Bad Tenacious D choice (Storms the Gates would have been far surperior). Good Metallica choice.

I could go on all day. Very subjective stuff as always, but I'm convinced overall.

@ JoyrexJ9

QotSA have better tracks but the guitars in wouldn't be as much fun to play as 3's and 7's. It's a perfect GH song IMO, I can imagine the note chart working very well.
