Acti mute on Guitar Hero IV track list
"Beat It", "Paradise City", "Johnny B Goode".
Activision has refused to comment on the authenticity of a leaked Guitar Hero World Tour track list.
The monster pile of songs appeared on GameFAQs and traces back to an email by the same person who leaked the Guitar Hero III track list, apparently.
Our favourites are "Beat It" by Michael Jackson, "Johnny B Goode" by Chuck Berry, and "Paradise City" by Guns N' Roses.
Big names such as Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy, Nirvana ("Smells Like Teen Spirit"), Van Halen and Lynyrd Skynyrd ("Sweet Home Alabama") are all in.
Also on there are Tenacious D, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix (as was announced recently), The Police, The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many more.

A Rock Band.

If they get the notation right in this game then this is a winner.
Three Tool songs and Hallowed Be Thy Name; very nice.

The only time I'll say this; I hope it's not true. Mainly because, if it is, I'd probably buy it - and GH III was a mess, making me expect no less of this. The E3 showing of Hot For Teacher made that dread worse, to be honest; it just looked, well, cluttered and overcomplicated, with trademark Neversoft bad note charts.

@sanctusmortis
Did they say it was out, or just that they had learned? I expect a modified version, but the opportunity to have signature battle tracks is just too appealing for marketing suits for its to get dropped altogether

Nice choices. If the list is accurate, that is.

Given that RB2 will use any of your previously purchased RB DLC, AND import the disc songs from RB, you would certainly hope GH4 will do the same.
If they weren't planning on doing so, they probably are now
@Erinan
RB2 actually just said 500 songs. I suspect that includes the existing tracks (all the RB1 songs will be available for purchase, for those who don't already own the disc). Pretty impressive all the same. Though as I suggest above, we can't start making such specific comparisons because we don't know the full extent of what GH4 has planned.

I wasn't going to bother with GH3 but if this is true I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, what's next? Guitar battle vs. Phil Collins?
Also, how in the heck have they managed to get all the way to the fourth installment without including a single Gary Moore track?

Surely it should be Andy Summers?
And even then, it's a step down from Slash and Tom Morello. Not that he isn't a great guitarist, but he's not gonna sell to 'the kidz!'
On the plus side - Assassin! That would be even more epic if it's Grand Omega Bosses edit. That rawks! \m/
The drums in Assassin are especially killer, though. Can definitely see why they've chosen it.

I must say, if it has Fury Of The Storm, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Dragula, and Kickstart my Heart in the same game I am sold in mere seconds.
I still can't understand why they don't use Megadeth's Holy Wars, because that is the best metal song in existence.

Considering those tracks now include drums and mic, there are some INSPIRED choices. Love it.
