I didn't like the demo of this at all, really. Would I change my mind if I played the full game.

They are proper flight sims though, this is an arcadey consolised version, and all the more accessible for it.
That's the problem though. With the demo, I never felt like I was in control and didn't have a clue what was going on. It's the same problem as that japanese spacesim game (Project sylphyd?). |

Co-op air combat is as cool as it gets. Any word on the length/amount of those co-op missions (this is over Live I assume!)? This and Mass Effect for Xmas makes Bonker a happy boy. Edit: Tits, the co-op missions are fantastic apparently but there are only TWO of them :(

There are only 2 co-op missions at the moment.
The flight sticks are for the US only as the maker of them have never released their peripherals in the uk (HORI) due to poor sales. They can be imported from the states but are expensive! |

I still don't have a good handle on what the core gameplay of AC (edit: Assassin's Creed) is about. The find bad guy, kill bad guy, run away stuff is too rudimentary to stand alone.
I'm guessing it'll mostly be exploration-based mission-based stuff with side-quests given out by NPCs? Sort of a Grand Theft Altair, but without the vehicles? I was hoping for PoP-style acrobatic puzzley platforming, but it looks like that's been relegated in favour of simply being able to climb wherever you want to go. Maybe I'm missing something, but the videos they've released so far don't seem to convey what you'll actually be doing 90% of the time.

Ace Combat 6 Special Edition:
http://www.amazon.com/Ace-Combat-Liberat... 105 Euro..., not too expensive. Don't know if the game is multi-region though. I also have a NTSC 360, but... not sure if I'll get it. I'm sort of an old timer, I dig the regular pad.

Once again, a top review. Thanks guys. I think this might now be on my purchase list and, not having played any of the others in the series, I'll be popping my Ace Combat cherry in November.
It looks quite a lot like elements of X-wing. But in current universe. Does that make any sense ? |
