Ace Attorney WiiWare ports for Europe News

Wii News by Tom Bramwell

20 November, 2009

Capcom has confirmed that the three planned Ace Attorney WiiWare ports will be released in Europe next year for 1000 Wii Points apiece.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney will be first, in "early 2010", followed by Justice for All in "spring" and Trials and Tribulations at an unspecified later date. The US got a bit more specific information: January for AA, March for Justice and May for Trials.

Interestingly, the first instalment will actually be slightly split, with the first four of Wright's court cases in the core release, and the fifth one released separately for another 100 Wii Points. The latter will arrive in the US in May, apparently, with no immediate word on a European date, although it will happen.

Check out our reviews of the DS versions of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations elsewhere on Eurogamer.

Hm, I've been thinking of playing through the DS games again and I might just buy the WiiWare games instead. Will hold out for a review though because I doubt they will be radically different from the DS games.

The big question is; will they feature updated graphics? This could turn out very interesting, although I'd say the genre is better at home with the drag-along DS since the games tend to take a while to get through and a lot of it is dialogue.

updated graphics I think are a pipe dream, I personally think we'll basically will be getting a GBA game (Which the DS version was a port of in the first place) either full screen or in a window (Game boy player style)

Kotaku previewed this, doesn't look like anything but a port.

Yeah I think I'd prefer this on the small screen.

And yet we get Okamiden on the DS, which would be done much better justice on the big screen!

Just out of interest, what does 1000 points covert to in terms of GBP?

I've got a Wii myself, but I've never actually bought anything from the Wii store. I think it's because the whole 'points' instead of 'pounds' put me off.

Do you buy points in GAME stores, or is it just the same as PSN (using Debit/Credit Card)?

Aloot of the games charm comes from the anime look and personalities, definitely doesn't need a graphics upgrade, unless you're refering to improved resolution?

This is great news but these games are much suited to the DS, or at least I'd rather own them on my DS, I only have the 2nd game, the rest are so hard to find in my area >.<

But yeah if you don't own a DS I strongly suggest you DL these. They are well a well scripted, immensly humourous and genius slice of gaming bliss!
