Sports Interactive's soccer sim, Football Manager 2007, has taken the top spot in the UK All Formats Charts on its first weekend of release, knocking EA's FIFA 07 into second place.

Electronic Arts still has reason to celebrate with the number three entry of Sims expansion pack The Sims 2: Pets after a week of heavy TV advertising, while VU Games' Scarface: The World is Yours is still performing well at number four.

Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent makes its debut at number five in this weeks charts, just ahead of Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy at six. Sitting at number seven is another new entry - the PC-exclusive Battlefield 2142, from Digital Illusions and EA.

The rest of the top ten is made up of familiar faces, with THQ's Cars parking in the number eight spot, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 at number nine and Championship Manager 2007 at ten.

The only other new entry in this weeks' charts is Destroy All Humans! 2 at number 21, while four titles make a re-entry due to discounting - Buzz! The Big Quiz at 18, Singstar Rocks! at 24, Madagascar at 25 and Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at 36.

Someone from Sega will be getting a pat on the back tomorrow morning, that's for sure.

Meanwhile, someone from Eidos will be getting fired.
