50 Cent sequel details emerge
"Not going to be anything like the first".
Producer Aaron Blean has said that 50 Cent sequel Blood on the Sand is much more focused on quality.
"We're not just throwing together another game. We took the time; we invested in some really good tech, some really good writers and we created some really compelling gameplay that will definitely deliver the ultimate 50 Cent experience," Blean told IGN.
"We want to get the word out there that, not only does this game exist, but it's a game that you should pay attention to. It's not going to be anything like the first game."
The story takes place in a fictitious Middle Eastern country where 50 Cent and G-Unit are doing a gig. But the promoter runs out of money, so he has to give them a diamond-encrusted skull as payment.
However, this is stolen from the rappers as they are ambushed trying to leave the country. Without further ado, out come the guns and off they go in search of revenge and to find out who these ambushers are and what they want.
"It's a crime story, but it's got a bit of humour sprinkled into it," explained Blean. "We focused a little more on the story."
Blood on the Sand is built on the Unreal Engine 3 and is apparently very similar to Gears of War in its approach, with cover to hide behind and shoot from as well as jump-in co-operative play.
It will have driving chase sections too, apparently, and you'll be able to hijack a helicopter and using its turret to shower bullets on baddies.
50 Cent and G-Unit will be recording exclusive music for the game to entice fans, and Blean revealed that he was working on securing "high-profile" actors for the game in addition to "one of the biggest hip-hop producers in the world" to write the music.
And, Blean assures us, 50 Cent is actively and heavily involved in development.
"He comes by the office and not only does he review the game, he's very particular about how the game should look and how the game should play. So he's been heavily involved in this second iteration," continued Blean.
The first game, 50 Cent: Bulletproof, has apparently clocked up an impressive 2.5 million sales since release in late 2005.

'' What's the macguffin in that then?''
''A crystal Skull!!!''
'' We'll take it, just throw diamonds in there instead though, ok''
''How about some Nazi Zombies too?''

Just like in real life then, only last week I lost my mobile whilst out on the piss, some no good bastard nabbed it, but sadly for him he didn't know who he was dealing with.
So far I've killed 18 people and caused 3 million pounds worth of collateral damage, and I haven't even taken my guns out yet.

Look at the size on those hands?
And is it me, or is Fiddy literally punching a hole through his spleen?
Well I guess he has been shot in the jaw 14 times at point blank range, by a shotgun, with exploding shells.
I'm done, I want this game.

So if it wasn't focused on quality before...?
"We're not just throwing together another game"
So they admit to throwing together games in the past?
Why does it take place in a fictitious Middle Eastern country? Is it solely so they can 'shoot some non-Americans'? Why the hell would they accept a diamond-encrusted skull (presumably not a real skull?) As payment and why the f*ck would they go after whoever stole it? My guess, it was all the evil gig promoters plan! Steal the skull from the 'ambushers' and give it to some talentless bonehead (pun intended) and... oh god, just kill me now!

(And before some wag tries to point out that it is not a sterotype and that he actually is the baddest, most violent and dumbest rapper alive. Don't. Because if that is the case, I'd trade in my degree for the sort of dumbness that can sell a 50Cent-created soft drink to Coca-Cola for $200m)

Haha, here we go again...I hoped to stumble over one of your posts here
People make fun of him because he's a clown...yes, a rich clown but you would be surprised how many stupid people actually manage to get "rich". Also funny how you miss the point every single time (degree? really?) - nobody is laughing at the story because it's unrealistic or fantastic like a sci fi story or a marvel comic. People laughing because the story of "Blood in the sand" sounds like the daydreaming fantasy of a 10 year old wannabe gangsta (probably the target audience anyway...), it's downright pathetic.

They hired some writers to come up with that shit?!

I didn't get your point last time, and nor am I getting your point this time around. But let's see if you can see where I am coming from. A preposterous premise is being made into a game here, but aren't all games which involve shooting preposterous? What makes the premise of GTA, Saints Row, Crackdown, Just Cause, Gears of War or any other comparable game more acceptable than this one? If you take those games down to its basics, there is as much effort in those stories as there is in the 50Cent game. It's basically one guy (or if you're being pedantic, some guys) against a huge group of guys to save the city/save the world/get lots of money. Or a slight variation on that theme.
My point is, laugh all you want at the 50Cent game, but I don't understand what makes this story/game more pathetic than any other game in its genre.
(I'll also ignore that cheap jab. I completely set myself up for that one

The difference between this game and those that you mentioned, is that those others are pure, sci-fi mostly, fantasy through and through, whereas this joke of a storyline is not only trying to capatalise off the whole '' All of the middle east is bad, shoot those fuckers'' vibe that's popping up in a lot of games recently, but is also attaching to it what could be the most proposterous revenge motif ever as an excuse for all the mass killing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for violence in games, but I'm also all for taking the piss out of 50cent, I'm sure him, his gigantic jaw and millions of dollars wouldn't mind too much anyway.
Frankly it deserves to have the piss taken out of it, especially as the guys behind it are actually bigging up this amazing plot.

Well let's just say the story in Gears, while nothing more than a generic b-movie plot, at least doesn't try to come up with any fake "connections" to the real world in order to earn some extra street cred among the braindead who buy 50's crap.
And when it comes to the comparison with GTA - why should anyone take those games "down to their basics"? It's not like they're simple deathmatch shooters. The GTA series has style and some clever stories that pay tribute to lots of movies and subcultures. The first 50 cent game on the other hand was a pathetic cash in, selling on hype and a fake hip hop connection only.
I admit, the jab was cheap indeed

Point taken. Something about Skeletor made me see red.

PS: i'm a gay man who loves hip hop, so yes i feel totally qualified to make outlandish comments like that.
