Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Route 13, Tapu Village and Route 14

Route 13, Tapu Village and Route 14 are up next, taking you right up to your next Trial on Ula'ula Island.

Here on this page we'll explain all you need to know about the story and main events as they unfold here, and as with all pages of our walkthrough we'll highlight any and all trainers, items and wild Pokémon available to catch as well.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Route 13

Route 13 is a small, connecting route that takes you from Route 12 to Tapu Village. To the north, you'll find an entrance to optional, expansive Haina Desert (which is blocked until you complete the next Trial), otherwise, barring a handful of items to pick up and a couple fishing spots, there's not a huge amount to do.

Gladion will appear as you enter the Route, giving you a heads up that Team Skull are trying to steal Lillie's Cosmog, otherwise explore until you're satisfied, then it's onwards to Tapu Village to the west.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Tapu Village, Aether House

Tapu Village is barely a village now - it consists of just a single Pokémon Center, a ruin, and a patch of long grass.

There are, at least, some rare Pokémon to catch in the long grass, and a man in the Pokémon Center will trade his Phantump for one of yours - meaning you get a Trevenant (Phantump evolves when traded) in return - it can be handy against the upcoming Ghost-type trial if you need something for it!

Otherwise, look out for your version-exclusive Ice-type Pokémon, either Sandshrew or Vulpix, in the nearby grass, along with the rare crowd-favourite Absol, then head west again.

Your next stop is Aether House, just to the north, on Route 15. You won't be able to get much further for now though, so go straight for the house and be prepared for a quick battle when you get there.

Inside, one of the two children will battle you, before Acerola appears and reveals her identity as your next Trial Captain. You now need to go back to Route 14 and head to her Trial, south of Tapu Village, but first you're stopped by a Team Skull Grunt.

Defeat them, then head back the way you came to Tapu Village.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Route 14

Route 14 is the way to the Abandoned Thrifty Megamart and Acerola's Ghost-type Trial. It lies south of Tapu Village, witht he route itself half black sand beach and half water.

If you surf out onto the water you'll find a small island ruin. A swimmer there has been surrounded by some aggressive Frillish, and past the Veteran guarding the little ruin you'll find TM30 Shadow Ball - as a Ghost-type attack (and one of the strongest) it's super-effective against fellow Ghosts, and could come in very handy in the upcoming trial. Teach it to a Pokémon with high Special Attack if you can.

After that, explore the rest of the route and then head to the Abandoned Thrifty Megamart to start your trial!
