Resident Evil Revelations 2 - Ep 2: Fight Parasite-tossing mutants and explore the apartments

Learn how to defeat the parasite-flinging mutant, return to the security gate and begin exploring the abandoned apartment building.

You might have found refuge from the rain but, unfortunately, there's a particularly annoying creature to deal with once you enter the warehouse. This swollen monstrosity is able to toss parasites in your direction - and from quite a distance too - and the wide splash damage causes temporary blindness if you're caught in it. All in all, it makes for a truly patience-testing battle.

How to kill the parasite-throwing mutant

Thankfully, the beast has an extremely obvious weak point - and a single shot from your rifle can bring it down. Your best chance of success is to wait for his projectile strike to launch, run out of harm's way, then use his recovery time to shoot his weak spot. Speed is of the essence here, however, as there are two more mutants closing in on your position from the rear of the room.

Once the area is secure, make your way to the shuttered door at the far end of the area and switch to Natalia in order to open the crate nearby, grabbing the Expansion Bag (Natalia) from within. When you're ready, hoist the shutters and pass on through.

Pass through the security gate

Back out in the rain, ignore the playground area ahead (there's nothing to see here, beyond a proliferation of exploding pus mines), and follow the road to the right as it bends around. At the end, climb aboard the abandoned bus, grab the Green Herb and then exit out from the other side.

Immediately enter stealth mode and sneak up behind the enemy ahead to bring him down. Be careful though - as soon as he's dead, a second monster springs up from the ground, alongside another parasite-tossing creature on the walkway above.

There's little space to hide from his parasites attacks, so deal with the long-limbed mutant quickly, then sprint up the steps to confront the second creature head-on. Empty a few bullets into its weak spot and he'll soon go down. When that palaver's been dealt with, head through the blue door.

In the next area, make a note of the gate ahead (the one that Claire and Moira wedged open earlier), then take a left and descend the steps. In the operating room, follow Natalia's instructions to destroy the invisible bug, then climb the staircase at the far end of the room. At the top, there's a second invisible bug to deal with. When the coast is clear, switch to Natalia and open the chest in the corner to retrieve a Parts Box. You'll also find some Gunpowder in the desk drawer nearby.

When you're ready, backtrack all the way to the jammed gate you noted earlier, but watch out for another invisible bug attack as you go. Back at the gate, look for the small opening on the ground to the left. Switch to Natalia, then head on through. Locate the hidden Assault Rifle Ammo under the bed, crawl back through the hole and take control of Barry once more. Hop over the crate holding the gate open, then pass through the door at the end of the corridor.

Outside, head along the walkway, climb down the steps and pass through the blue door at the bottom. There's a workbench inside, so feel free to use your new Damage Lv. 2 upgrade before proceeding. When you're done, leave the room via the white door and head left along the corridor.

Enter the first door on your right, then look for the small hole in the adjacent bathroom and switch to Natalia to crawl on through. Grab the Assault Rifle Ammo from the crate on the right, then turn left and unlock the nearby door. Regain control of Barry, use the newly-opened door to reunite with Natalia, then make your way up the stairs.

Exploring the apartment block

When you reach the first landing, head through the door on the left and then take the first door on the right to find some Alcohol. Back in the corridor, continue onward and enter the door on the left, taking an immediate left on the other side. In the corner of the bathroom, you'll find a crate containing a Green Herb. As you leave the room, take another left and explore the next area to find the 'Town Resident's Note' document on a nearby shelf.

Head back into the corridor and take a left, following the hallway around until it widens out. Swipe the Assault Rifle Ammo from the crate in the corner, then head into the elevator nearby. Switch to Natalia and crawl on through the hole to reach the room on the other side.

There's an invisible bug in here, so sprint quickly around the corner to the right, unlock the door and pass back into the corridor. Immediately switch control to Barry and take the creature down. Once it's out of the way, you'll be able to explore the unlocked room safely. Here, you'll find a Red Herb on the ground in a corner, a crate containing Handgun Ammo, Smoke Powder on a shelf and another Tower Emblem perched on some furniture. Shoot it to add it to your collection.
