Assassin's Creed Origins - The Oasis

Everything you need to know about stealthing and stabbing your way along the Nile.

The Oasis is the first quest you'll encounter in Assassin's Creed Origins, which has you tackle a few enemies and serves as the game's pseudo-tutorial in the process.

We'll cover everything you need to know about completing The Oasis below, while you can head back to our main Assassin's Creed Origins walkthrough and guide hub for all the other missions so far, and more.

The Oasis

As the story unfolds you'll end up with a choice of quests available to you so the order you tackle them in may vary, but this order places them in a convenient geographical sequence as well as keeping them ordered by their level recommendations. It's not compulsory to follow this to the letter, but it's probably the quickest sequence to follow.

The game opens with a combat tutorial, so start by following the onscreen prompts. It's impossible to lose this fight, so take your time. Once Hypatos is dead use your Animus Pulse to locate the exit to the area and move into the room beyond.

Need more help? Our Assassin's Creed Origins walkthrough and guide will take you through every step of the main story and quests, whilst we also have guides on how to grind XP and level up, plus explainers on how Assassin's Creed Origins sidequests work, alongside how to get crafting materials and animal goods, and even complete solutions and walkthroughs to all Assassin's Creed Origins Tombs, Silica, and Anchient Mechanisms. We also have a list of all Papyrus Puzzle locations, Origins' cursed and legendary weapons and how they're acquired, and finally a detailed page Phylakes, Phylakes' Prey and how to get the Black Hood outfit.

There's a lot of loot in this area, both in the main room and in the chambers to each side, so explore it thoroughly. Once you've cleared it out climb up the fallen pillar and jump across to the stone platforms, then clamber up the statues and break the wall to emerge back into daylight.

Head down the slope and give Hepfeza a hand against his foes, then mount your horse and follow him into town. Once you arrive he'll give you a bow - use it to shoot the two nearby practice dummies.

Some soldiers will show up, and after a brief stealth tutorial you'll be tasked with eliminating them. Head to the right of the house and take out the lone soldier, climb the ladder and tackle the one just to the left, then head back down to locate two more behind the house.

Next Up: The False Oracle

The game's still in tutorial mode so they're pretty unobservant so taking them out without being seen should be fairly simple. Once you've vanquished them head back to Hepfeza.
