FIFA 18 The Journey: Hunter Returns Prologue decisions and rewards

Everything you need to know to get the most of FIFA 18's story mode sequel.

The Journey: Hunter Returns' Prologue is the upbeat opener to FIFA 18's story mode, which kicks off in the favelas of Brazil.

Here on this page we'll take you through everything you need to know about the Journey: Hunter Returns Prologue decisions and rewards, and provide a few tips for getting the most out of the Chapter as you go along, too.

For more details, meanwhile, head back to our FIFA 18 The Journey: Hunter Returns walkthrough hub or our main FIFA 18 tips and guide page which branches out to plenty more.

FIFA 18 The Journey: Hunter Returns Prologue decisions and rewards

The first thing you'll be asked to do in The Journey: Hunter Returns' Prologue is decide whether or not to import your Alex Hunter character from the original Journey in FIFA 17, or start with a fresh one.

We go over this in our main Journey: Hunter Returns walkthrough hub, but the main point to note is that things will be slightly easier if you import your Hunter, as he'll have a slightly higher Overall rating and definitely some higher stats in his individual attributes, too.

After that, you'll also get to choose your position. We chose Striker, as it's generally the easiest to blast through the mode by scoring goals and bringing others into play, but you'll do fine with any of them, so it's really up to your preference!

For more help? Our FIFA 18 tips and guide gives you an overview of our many pointers, and if you're playing The Journey in particular, see our The Journey: Hunter Returns walkthrough. Meanwhile, we have lists of FIFA 18 wonderkids and the best young players, FIFA 18 player ratings, the best strikers, best wingers, best midfielders, best defenders and best goalkeepers. Elsewhere, we have details on five star skillers and skill moves listed, how to score free kicks, penalties and set pieces, and the FIFA 18 best players by position. Fan of Ultimate Team? We look at FIFA 18 Chemistry explained, the latest OTW Ones to Watch cards, along with best Chemistry Styles for each position, and finally how to earn FIFA Coins quickly and for free.

The Journey: Hunter Returns Prologue walkthrough

The Prologue itself begins with a typical, TV-style Previously On reminder for what happened in the first Journey, going back over your rollercoaster of friendships and early-career drama.

After that refresher, you get your first touch of the ball in Brazil, as you and your old pal Danny Williams kick a ball around with some kids in the favelas while you're on a pre-season holiday.

There aren't any key choices or rewards here - your introduction to the Fiery or Cool dialogue system just affects the conversation and nothing else - so just use it as a chance to knock the ball about, practice some skill moves, and get back into the feel of things before things get started for real.

After the short game, the titles will roll and you'll then get your first look at the customisation systems. Take the time to set up Hunter's look how you like it, but be aware that you can change this at any point - tattoos are temporary in the Journey, it seems - so don't stress over it too much.

Once you're ready, it's on to the next chapter - and first proper chapter - in the game, with The Journey: Hunter Returns Chapter 1 - The Life.

That's really it for the prologue. It's a simple warm-up for you, so on to the next!
