How to take on Belito in Final Fantasy 12.

Here on this page of our Final Fantasy 12 Elite Hunts and Marks guide, we'll be taking you through everything you need to know in order to defeat Belito - a Rank V Elite Mark for the A Dark Rumour Hunt - including the Petitioner and Mark's locations, the Hunt requirements, and strategies for the battle itself.

If you're looking for one of the other Marks however, you can head back to our Final Fantasy 12 Hunts and Marks locations, requirements and strategies hub. For other tips and explainers meanwhile, head to our Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age guide and walkthrough, where we cover plenty more.

Belito and the A Dark Rumour Hunt location and requirements

Before you get to the actual battle, here's everything you need to know about Belito and the A Dark Rumour Hunt:

  • Prerequisites: Finish Draklor Laboratory and Paramina Run
  • Recommended level: 50
  • Petitioner location: Rabanastre, Clan House
  • Mark location: Nam-Yensa Sandsea, Withering Shores
  • Reward: 5100 Gil, Megalixir

Montblanc is the petitioner again, so once he's filled you in you're good to go. The destination is in Nam-Yensa, but it's only accessible from Ogir-Yensa via the Zertinan Caverns. Head for the Central Junction region of Ogir-Yensa and enter the Zertinan Caverns. Head to the west and push the rock into the quicksand, follow the path, and you'll emerge in the Withering Shores.

Head up onto the refinery tanks, and as you approach the far end an old “friend” will appear and some of the comments Montblanc and others have been making will suddenly make some sort of sense.

Belito strategies and how to defeat it

For this fight you'll have the assistance of Monid making the fight 4 vs 4. Start by using Dispel on Ba'Gamnan, then turn your attention to the other three.

While Ba'Gamnan is the main threat in terms of dealing damage he's difficult to take down with the other three backing him up. Note that if Balthier is in your party Ba'Gamnan will focus entirely on him, so if you can keep him alive he can make a good distraction. Ba'Gamnan's attacks are a mix of physical and magic; Shining Ray can hit multiple targets for 1200HP and Eviscerator does around 1000HP to a single target, but if you've been doing the marks in order this shouldn't be too much of a problem and you ought to be able to swat them like irritating bugs.

Once the fight is over Monid will explain the deception and hand over your reward so there's no need to go back to Montblanc, although next time you see him he will apologise.
