Raiders of the Broken Planet has four campaigns

To be released throughout 2017.

Raiders of the Broken Planet, the next game from Castlevania Lords of Shadow developer MercurySteam, has four campaigns.

The sci-fi cover shooter brawler launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at some point in 2017 with the Alien Myths campaign. This will then be followed up by three campaigns released throughout the year. These are Wardog Fury, Hades Betrayal and Council Apocalypse.

The idea, it seems, is that Raiders of the Broken Planet will be broken up into seasons, and so these four campaigns make up the 2017 season of campaigns.

Each campaign tells a parallel story and can be played in any order. They include new missions and new characters.

There's a heavy multiplayer element to Raiders of the Broken Planet, with co-op and competitive modes. You either join a team as a Raider for co-op gameplay, or fight against them alongside an AI-controlled army. But there's a story-driven single-player experience, too.

I had a chat with MercurySteam co-founder and creative force, Enric Alvarez and producer Dave Cox about the studio's work on Castlevania for Konami in a feature published last year. In short: they had a bit of a time of it.
