Battlefield 1 Premium Friends lets you share access to paid-for DLC maps

They shall pass.

Battlefield 1 Premium subscribers will soon be able to share their access to extra maps with friends.

EA's called the new feature Premium Friends and said it was based on fan feedback.

Some fans had raised concerns about how Battlefield 1's community was being split between those who had access to new content and those who didn't.

It's been an issue in countless games before, where multiplayer lobbies are split and friends left on their own if they don't have all the latest DLC maps.

The other alternative is simply making all extra maps free - as Titanfall 2 has done - although publishers would then have to look elsewhere to make up the money.

Perhaps not-coincidentally, Battlefield 1 just launched its big They Shall Not Pass DLC, which is sadly nothing to do with Lord of the Rings. We detail everything it adds in the video just above.
