Level-5-inspired action-RPG Shiness sets release date

Cel-shaded adventure arrives next month on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Nearly three years ago cel-shaded action-RPG Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom launched a successful Kickstarter campaign and now it's finally getting a release on 18th April for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Developed by French studio Enigami, Shiness has a very Level-5 vibe with its cast of anthropomorphic animals setting sail on a flying ship. Players assume the role of a dog named Chado, but you'll also be able to develop his four companions as they embark on a sprawling adventure.

Enigami estimated that the game would be roughly 20 hours long, which may be small by JRPG standards, but for a small indie studio that's pretty ambitious.

Shiness raised roughly $140k on Kickstarter back in the day before publisher Focus Home Interactive paired up with the developer.

You can currently pre-order Shiness on Steam where it's 15 per cent off at £21.24.
