Civilization 6 gets premium Poland DLC

And Vikings! And a big Winter update!

PC strategy game Civilization 6 has its first premium DLC: Poland.

The new civ is led by Jadwiga, the first female monarch of the Kingdom of Poland in the late 14th century, and youngest daughter to Louis the Great.

One of the unique things about Poland is they can gain control of other civ's tiles when they fortify their borders. Jadwiga makes Relics more valuable and Holy Sites more effective, too. Their unique unit is the Winged Hussar, which is strong on the attack and can push back defending units. The unique building is the Sukiennice, or Cloth Hall, which gives bonus Production from foreign Trade Routes and Gold from internal Trade Routes.

The DLC, out now for £3.99, also adds a new scenario called Jadwiga's Legacy.

There's another premium DLC pack freshly released. The £3.99 100-turn Vikings Scenario Pack lets you rule Europe as a Viking lord. You can play as Harald Hardrada of Norway, King Canute of the Danes or Olof Skotkonung of Sweden. This adds six new City-States and three new Natural Wonders (Eyjafjallajökull, Lysefjord and Giant's Causeway) for use in the base game.

Both DLCs arrive alongside a big new update for Civ 6 that adds a new Earth map, scenario menu, balance changes and fixes. The patch notes are over on Steam.
