Starcraft artist is helping design an actual manned mech

Are you gonna give me orders?

Starcraft concept artist Vitaly Bulgarov is collaborating with a Korean technology company to make an actual manned mech that wouldn't look out of place brawling with a xenomorph.

Dubbed METHOD-1, the bi-pedal metal monstrosity is being developed by Korea Future Technology, though it's unclear exactly what its purpose is. The manufacturer is planning to build it first, then sort out what this baby can do later.

"To answer one of the most common questions what is this for I'll just say for now that from a mechanical/software/hardware/electric engineering standpoint it was quite an ambitious project that required developing and enhancing a lot of technologies along the way," Bulgarov said on Instragram.

"That growth opens up many real world applications where everything we have been learning so far on this robot can be applied to solve real world problems. (I'm not just talking bipedal robots)."

One wonders about its effectiveness in combat, however, as the METHOD-1 doesn't look like it would be fare much better than Robocop adversary ED-209 when it comes to traversing stairs.
