American Truck Simulator's America just got a lot bigger

Tipping the scales.

SCS Software has just released a substantial update for American Truck Simulator, making it that little bit more American in the process.

The world has been scaled up, making that distance between destinations greater and bringing to life the great American expanse with hundreds of miles of new roads. A new city is folded in too, with Santa Maria making an appearance. Some new landmarks have been added in, and there are 28 reworked or entirely new junctions. Hold me.

Shifting the world from 1:35 to 1:20 scale is actually an impressive feat from SCS Software, sweetened further by the fact it's completely free. The foundations there were already impressive enough - I reviewed American Truck Simulator earlier this year and found the great American landscape was the perfect fit for the laid-back adventuring of the series, and that sense will only be improved by this update. Here's hoping some new states find their way into the game soon, too.
