The Walking Dead: Season 3 will launch with two episodes on the same day

Here's new gameplay footage.

The Walking Dead: Season 3 will premiere on 20th December for PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Android.

Unlike previous Telltale titles, The Walking Dead's third season will include a two-episode premiere with its first chapter, The Ties that Bind. Both episodes will launch on the same day.

You can see a snippet of new playable character Javier's backstory in the footage below:

A retail version of The Walking Dead: Season 3 will be available in February for PS4 and Xbox One, though it's likely it will only contain the early chapters on disc while the rest will require a download.

We learned earlier that The Walking Dead: Season 3 will let players import save data or simply select what happened to them, should they be switching to a new platform (as many are since the last season was released during the previous console generation).

Newcomers will have a default background story should they not wish to make choices about previous situations they know nothing about.
